Kanaka Creek, Maple Ridge, BC.

When it's time to go, but you glance back over your shoulder and you see this, you just know you'll be fine getting in trouble with your significant other to get the shot.

Another late season parasol! Nature never fails to surprise me. I've called time on the 2025 mushroom season several times now, and yet on the first "car windscreen scraping" morning of the season here I find this glorious specimen. No doubt sheltered from the frost by this ancient woodland.

DALLAS MAVS WIN IN OVERTIME with LUCA MAGIC

Everything about the scene screams "November" but the mild temps have allowed an extended period of time on the lake. In years past, the canoe had already been pulled up for the winter and snow frequently covered the ground. Admittedly, more detail to apparel need be considered but the extra garments are well worth the opportunity to join the bufflehead ducks who have once again arrived for their brief stay.

Suprematism is an early twentieth-century art movement focused on the fundamentals of geometry (circles, squares, rectangles, triangles). The term refers to a form of abstract art based on the supremacy of pure artistic expression rather than on a visual or literal depiction of objects. It is entirely subjective and gives room for the artist to present what they think or perceive versus what they may see.

Shot in the abandoned School of Moss in Croatia. Once a communist school, nature is now taking over again.

Can you feel it?

heart and soul

hand on heart

in mind losing control

deeply housed in trance

a suffusion of light

the iced tonic of love

desires a vocative backlight

sweet visual treats

and exemplary vistas

of nature's seduction

within it's purity it cleanses

our fatigued societal minds

seek solace found in the poetic enticement

of a cinematic passion play of light

be still in it's illustrious movement

hysterical society-soi-disant

now a world away

for we enter Heaven's gate

embraced by a Nature soigné...

It isn't work when you love your job.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,

as working for the Lord, not for men.

This is one of 53 photos in an exhibit I've put together for Florida Community College at Jacksonville (North Campus), April 25 thru May 31. Details are here:

I've titled the exhibit "Uncommon Stillness: A Focus on Faith." If you're in the Jacksonville area, stop by for a look any time, or come to the opening reception tomorrow evening. It's all free!

(I'm busy today, making the final preparations!)

Europe. The Netherlands, Zuid Holland, Leiden, Nederlandse Spoorwegen, Central Station, Façade, People (uncut)

The front façade of the neo-modernist (with a constructivist tendency) Leiden Central Station is historically the third station on this spot. It was designed by Harry Reijnders (Nederlandse Spoorwegen) in 1987 and opened in 1996.

The soundtrack: XTC – Senses working overtime.

This is number 31 of Fish eyed and 38 of Leiden.

The view on a basketball court inside an abandoned school.

I hope the pay is worth it.
