While walking the dog in the neighborhood, I saw this and right away thought, happy bench Monday..:) Hope all is well with every one. I'm getting my heater replaced on Tuesday. It's a major expense..:(

Go to Seattle for a weekend, took this city night view, remember a old movie call Sleepless in Seattle 1993,Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. Very famous movie star at that time.西雅圖渡過個短暫週末,順便拍攝幾張夜景,想起一部九三年的老電影,西雅圖夜未眠,或者叫做緣分的天堂,喜歡當中的兩個明星,Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

Windmühle Bierde, Petershagen

Spring took a couple of days off but Sunday pleased with beautiful sunshine and moderate temperatures. A good occasion to continue our mill project with four windmills in the Minden area and in Petershagen. The full mill-route is 320 km long and offers 42 mills. So still some more project days ahead.

Entering Coconino National Forest. I drive past this place at least 4 times a day, every day and it never gets boring!

solitary road along Snaefellsnes peninsula in wintery Iceland. This journey is unforgettable, especially in winter. We did it twice, once in summer and once in winter and I found the winter journey even more impressive along this mountain range that forms the backbone of the long-stretched Snaefellsnes peninsula culminating in Snaefellsjokull volcano at the tip of it.

While my computer is out being fixed I have been exploring Colorado. This is from early one morning on Kebler Pass in the San Juan Mountains.

This lady was so nice. She stepped into the frame just as I took the shot. She said she was sorry for messing up my shot. I told her it wasn't messed up, because now she was part of it..:)

..HBM!!

I do a lot of architecture photos because architecture interesting and I not very creative so it's easy..;) I don't find animal or people pictures very interesting.

Anyway, this is another business in Dripping Springs, Texas.

After working at a rental shop in East Texas while in college, Buddy recognized a need in his hometown of Dripping Springs. Started from scratch and supported by word of mouth, Dripping Springs Rental Center has been providing fine rental equipment to the hill country for almost 14 years.

Happy Bench Monday!!

HBM!!

This is the Hog Pound and they just moved to this location. They were more in town. But, Wimberley is a really small town so it doesn't take much of a move to get out of town..;)

Have a great day :-)

Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it :-)

I will always try to reciprocate with a visit back to your stream

Bank Holiday weekend was wayyy too short for our second visit to the bonnie Cairngorms, so it was with heavy hearts that we started our return journey. And the more the mountains receded, the more my mood sank ... :(

I'm wanting to put together a new website and needed images of people. My gorgeous neighbors agreed to help me with my website. Crystal, in the red shirt, is going to help me design the website. Her partner, Lindsay, is giving moral us support..:)

Remarkable horizontal and vertical erosion

Nothing real special about this shot. I just like the way it's framed. Here's some history for those who follow history..:)

Arriving in Texas in the mid 1840s, German farmers became the first settlers of what is now known as Gruene, Texas. Ernst Gruene, a German immigrant, and his bride Antoinette, had reached the newly established city of New Braunfels in 1845, but acreage was scarce. Thus, Ernst and his two sons purchased land just down river, and Ernst built the first home in Gruene in early fachwerk style. His second son, Henry D. Gruene, built his home (now Gruene Mansion Inn) and planted his surrounding land with cotton. Having become the number one cash crop, the cotton business soon brought 20 to 30 families to Henry D.'s lands.

I ran across this lone Albizia Tree on some millionaires ranch. It seems like the best, most unique places to shoot are privately owned. Later in the week during my tour I learned that guy owns 75 acres of the most spectacular land on the island. The planets being sold to the highest bidder and all the rest of us are left out in the cold, well not this time!!! I jumped the fence and ran out to a good spot and laid down in the grass and waited. After a few minutes I had "stolen" my comp and then made like the wind. :)

Actually, when I first saw this tree there was a white horse under it with some beams of light breaking through the clouds, it was an absolutely magical scene. No joke!!! By the time I got into position it had changed drastically. I tried to find a composition that isolated the tree outside the fence but was unable to come up with anything definitive. to make it even more interesting, there where men on horseback patrolling the perimeter passing by about every 10 mins. So I knew I had a short window of opportunity to grab and run. I felt so exhilarated after returning to the car, like a thief, no, more like a "photo ninja" Whaaaaaaaa!!! LOL. :)

For some reason I have started seeing my compositions in a square format. I'm not sure what has triggered this impulse in me, but I'm starting to warmup to the square format. and again my subject is centered in the frame, shame on me. Hehe :)

Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my photos and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great weekend everyone :)

If you have any questions about this photo or about photography in general, I will do my best to help, just post a comment or send me a Flickr mail and I will respond as quickly as possible.

Have A Great Weekend!My friend !

週末愉快~ ( ^___^ )y

I had to get out on the water for this shot, so it's not as sharp as I like them. I'm still ready for another trip. My daughter keeps saying she wants to go with me. I'm just waiting for her to say lets go..;)

Happy Fence Friday!!

HFF!!

More of the series from the town of Gruene. I didn't go in this place, but after reading about them on the Internet, I wish I had. It sounds like Thursday night is the best time to go because they give out free samples of food and wine with live music.

The Hücker Moor is a nice little lake in the Herford area (Northwest Germany). Peat was cut here more than a century ago and created this lovely landscape. Today the place is a great location for wildlife and worth a trip for the local folks in all seasons.

It's hard to find the right image to slide, but I think this one works pretty good. Austin has this great little lake in the middle of town and on a pretty weekend, there are hundreds of people on it canoeing and paddle boarding , OK, maybe not that many..;) But a lot, nonetheless...:)

Going to a festival in Dripping Springs Sunday. Hope it isn't too hot

Gullfoss, the stunning waterfall located in the canyon of the Hvítá river (southwest Iceland).

I'm still on the Gurene, Texas series. This is the Gristmill restaurant entertainment area. The restaurant first opened in the early 1900's and severed the local farmers and laborer until it burned to the ground in 1922. The new restaurant opened in 1977 using the remains of the old restaurant's three story brick boiler room. They did a super job on the place. It's one of the coolest restaurants I've ever been in.

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas..:)) Christmas light shows are everywhere this time of year.

The cold weather has hit this place. We don't get show, just the cold and windy at times.

The area in this particular picture is now industrially developed, a car plant of SAIC is in that place - picture has historical value...

So, what would we see, standing here in 2024? Read below:

We are standing right outside the SAIC plant fence, we'd see lots of "MG" branded cars, SAIC produces these "British" cars here for the global market. Right in front of the viewer, beyond the plant fence, is the parking lot for new produced cars, it is roofed and the roofs are covered with solar panels.

To the left, about where these houses are (beyond that road), are the press shop and the body shop. Right of that, a bit more towards the center, but hidden behind the aforementioned buildings, are the paint shop and final assembly.

If one turns around 180° one would see a huge gravel area covered with oversized car transporter trucks.

Enjoying the sunrise in Boston in solitude

Godersi l'alba a Boston in perfetta solitudine

I took the photo a long time ago while we were staying in Bieszczady mountains. It was one of the last mornings. The night before there was a storm and so the morning was misty. I loved the atmosphere outside so I grabbed my camera and took some photos. The result is here. I hope you'll like it.
