This summer, my son took me up in the hills to an old WWII abandoned bunker. How they got all that concrete way up here in the mid 40's is beyond me.
On the way down from exploring, we stopped at the wye junction in the road (you can just see us down there) and I got out my DJI Phantom 4 quadcopter to take a look around. At this point, we are more than 1/2 way down from the mountain that is to our left and behind us.
We are looking East here. Seattle would be way back there.. Canada would be to our left. I believe the quad was around 400' high when I took this.

It had rained the whole day like from tubs. Actually, I planned, the Neist Point, the small peninsula
to take photos on the Scottish island Skye in the southwest in the sundown. But the weather meant it differently.
When I wanted to make a few test shots Late afternoon, it heard to rain for one moment on and the sky opened
for a short time before the coast. From approx. 100 admissions, were at the end only useful.....
What a fitting name for a sailboat. I looked up the full definition: A piece of music sung or played in the open air, typically by a man at night under the window of his lover. I really loved the time I spent on my sailboat. I don't have one anymore but I think about it often.

Hi, everyone. I'm really sorry I haven't been able to catch up with all of you lately...life has been hard, and I wasn't expecting the drastic and sudden changes on Flickr, which only today I could take the time to figure out. I had even decided to leave Flickr, but I'm going to persevere, cuz it's been such a big part of my life since 2008. Promise to ctach up with all of you very soon!

A gorge of the Calvert River, Northern Territory, Australia in in the late afternoon, looking downstream.
Mount Hood, called Wy'east by the Multnomah tribe, is a potentially active stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc of northern Oregon. It is the highest point in Oregon, 11,249 ft (3,429 m), and the fourth highest in the Cascade Range.
Something we folks that live within the shadows of the Cascades keep in mind:
Mt. Hood is considered the Oregon volcano most likely to erupt, though based on its history, an explosive eruption is unlikely. Still, the odds of an eruption in the next 30 years are estimated at between 3 and 7 percent, so the U.S. Geological Survey characterizes it as "potentially active." Mt. St. Helens comes to mind...
Regardless I'm looking forward to spending some time at Mt. Hood's bigger brother, Mt. Rainier, this summer.

Landscape scenario in Southeast Iceland which is very typical for the landscape in that part of the island: mountain chains and swamy pastures with little pools like these everywhere. These ponds are a perfect biotop for migratory birds which we saw making landfall in these plains in their hundreds. But I chose a quiet setting showcasing the gorgeous clouds and sky reflected in the ponds on this wonderful Spring day.

Construction on the bridge, the second to cross this river, began in 1896, with Leffert L. Buck as chief engineer, Henry Hornbostel as architect and Holton D. Robinson as assistant engineer, and the bridge opened on December 19, 1903 . At the time it was constructed, the Williamsburg Bridge set the record for the longest suspension bridge span on Earth. The record fell in 1924, when the Bear Mountain Bridge was completed.
La construcción del puente, el segundo en cruzar el río Este, se inició en 1896 por el ingeniero Leffert L. Buck, Henry Hornbostel como arquitecto y Holton D. Robinson como ingeniero asistente, siendo inaugurado el 19 de diciembre de 1903. En el momento en que fue construido, el puente de Williamsburg estableció el récord como el puente colgante más largo en la Tierra. Su récord no le duró mucho, ya que en 1924 se inauguró el Puente Bear Mountain.

Sólo por contemplar las playas de arena negra y los Reynisdrangur de Vík merece la pena viajar a Islandia. Están ubicadas al sur del país y se puede llegar desde Reykjavík en coche sin demasiadas complicaciones.
La localidad de Vík es muy tranquila. Como curiosidad, os contaré que es la población que queda más al sur de Islandia, y a la vez la más lluviosa del país, por lo que os recomiendo tomar medidas en forma de chubasquero o paraguas. Otra singularidad de Vík, es que pese a ser una ciudad costera no tiene puerto.
Pero el principal motivo para visitar Vík, son sus increíbles playas de arena volcánica negra y los Reynisdrangur, tres supuestos “trolls” gigantes de roca, que se han convertido en una de las imágenes más célebres de Islandia.
Estas tres rocas monolíticas, de hasta 66 metros de altura, fueron originadas por la erosión del fuerte oleaje del mar del Norte. Junto con el acantilado y la arena negra conforman un paisaje realmente insólito.
Pese a que todo tiene una explicación científica, los islandeses recurren a la mitología escandinava para explicar el origen de los Reynisdrangur. Por eso os dirán que son trolls convertidos en piedra tras ver la luz del sol.
En mi opinión, las playas de arena negra y los Reynisdrangur de Vík conforman uno de esos lugares en los que merece la pena madrugar o esperar un atardecer para inmortalizar un momento de belleza incalculable. Así es Islandia. (Sacado del Diario del Viajero)

These guys were getting ready in Conn-Brown Harbor for the morning run. I wonder if fishing is better or worse during a full moon. And, maybe it makes no difference at all..;) I know it's time for me to make another trip to the coast. I'm just waiting for the winter rates to kick in so the hotel won't cost so much.
