Big sky, open road, desert scrub - It's a cliche, I know, and this picture was simplicity itself to take - but I think the result is spectacular enough to be one of my favorites from the last few weeks. The road is Larapinta Drive, in the McDonnell Ranges west of Alice.

Outback South Australia
Returnng from a recent trip down south, this was an interesting sight on the inland Newell Highway, New South Wales, Australia. The photo gods were smiling when this huge crop spraying machine, a road train, and car managed to all come into the same frame for size comparison. :) Given I'm more often in the bush looking for live critters, this looked like a ginormous green praying mantis!
