Roseate Spoonbill ~ out on a limb

In the Wild ~ Florida Wetlands U.S.A.

Northern Florida ~ St. Augustine, Florida

(one more photo 'from this location' in the comments)

******************************************************************************

The Roseate Spoonbill is a wading bird of the ibis and spoonbill family. This species feeds in shallow fresh or coastal waters by swinging its bill from side to side as it steadily walks through the water, often in groups. The spoon-shaped bill allows it to sift easily through mud. It feeds on crustaceans, aquatic insects, frogs, newts and very small fish ignored by larger waders. The Roseate Spoonbill nests in shrubs or trees, often mangroves, laying 2 to 5 eggs, which are whitish with brown markings. Immature birds have white, feathered heads, and the pink of the plumage is paler. They are extremely agile high in the treetops. (They are often confused with the flamingo.)

Out of Hell by In This Moment

She's only sixteen

She has dreams of a girl

She thought she'd be in love

She thought she'd have the white picket fence

Now she stands on the corner

She sold herself to the streets

When the world gave up on her

She gave up on herself

She said, can anybody hear me?

She said, does anybody care?

As the monster pulls up slowly

He asks her how much she is

He's only fifteen

The world is passing him by

His father killed his mother

And drugs took over his life

Now he sleeps on corners

The streets become his home

When the world gave up on him

He gave up on himself

He said, is anybody out there?

Does anybody care?

The hopelessness is rising

There's only so much one can bare

I said, you are not alone

I'm standing by your side

I walk with you threw hell

I walk with you tonight

We are the forgotten

That nobody wants to face

Together we can rise

Let's climb out of hell

You are not forgotten

I'm standing by your side

Your struggle makes you beautiful

Out of hell we will climb

Out of hell we will climb

Out of hell we will climb

Out of hell we will climb

Out of hell we will climb

Out of hell we will climb

Out of hell we will climb

We spent the day today at Wildlife Photography Hides in Lincolnshire in the Dyke Hide hoping to get some good shots of the Red Kites & Buzzards amongst numerous other species of wildlife that can show up. Unfortunately our prize subjects were a little elusive today and I think the stars of the show today were the Grey Squirrels that put on an almost constant show throughout the day. I certainly wasn't disappointed as it's always an enjoyable day being out observing our wildlife.

This is a part of Norfolk coast I don’t know very well. So I took a picnic and my camera for a wander round. It was a dull, rainy day. The tide was out. There were lots of egrets and turnstones on the mud flats. There was a fabulous atmosphere.

I took my new camera along with me. I ended up deleting most of the images, but there were a few I liked. These had a grainy film texture that I remember from way back. However, I decided I’d have to find and read the camera instructions 😂

The story ends early, when a renovation job gets gutted, unfinished, and the old past moves out with none to replace it. These empty rooms set sleeping for strangers, and stories said with no remaining. No retaining of the bits you broke off and left, staring windows watching. Every now and then, I remember to exist, to notice myself and wonder what the reflection gets up to. When it comes to creating, I firmly believe there's no right way, and only one to get it wrong – leave yourself out of the picture. It's some kind of sickness I feel, every time I encounter an artist who implies no personal life. No self-portrait, no secret emotion, no insight to the heart. We're not wandering eyes alone; seeing is only part of sight. This is a call from the incredible darkness of being yourself, illuminated. That's what I live for.

Where ever it grows, what ever color it is....their beauty is always admirable. Between those green leafs on the water this flower just stands out

For me it is often less about where a specific place is than it is about what a place is... if that makes sense or not.
