Out and about today in Northumberland - hello, Spring - and saw an early rhododendron flowering. And then had some fun playing around with it. Thought this processing gave it a 'ghostly hand appearance' which I rather liked. I am very easily pleased.
The Muskrat was busy climbing part way up the creek bank to dig out some plant stems, bring them to the water's edge to clean and eat them.

I went out early at about 0330 Hrs. to get some star shots.
My intention was shoot directly westward to get star trails leading in 3 different directions. I could not get around to my left far enough as I was right up against the fence line for this lone tree on the hill.
It all sounded good in theory looking at the map but the end result was not as planned..
This is 350 shots each 6 seconds at 112mm, 1600 ISO, f/4.0 and an interval of 10 seconds between each shot.
The tree is 200metres away.
A wider angle would have been better but the tree would become lost in the scene.
I will have to find a better suited tree tree.

But I kinda like it. Not the best pic but a bit of fun :) There were a few people in this fantastic get up and just as we got near them they started walking towards us and I wasn't ready! Oh well, there's always next time!

66713 passes through the beautiful Rutland countryside near the village of Wing. The well manicured backdrop makes for a chocolate box picture perfect scene except for the gnarly old tree which has yet to blossom into its full spring splendour.

Usually these little crab spiders hang out on similarly colored flowers so they can sneak up on prey. This one happened to be running across the ground. I captured the shot using a moment macro lens on my iPhone.
