"If we care of our Water, we care of our Children"
For Kogi Culture, water is the beginning of everything, if we don't protect it will just be chaos. Here in Colombia we see the direct consequence of cutting trees everywhere. Where there are trees it is raining everyday. Where they cutted everything for bulls (to eat) meet everyday or intensively cultivate bananas for exportation, it is now dry with huge water issues... Everything in life must be balanced, otherwise earth will take its rights.
I just released a new galery on my website, with high quality 👉 Pictures of Colombia 🇨🇴i 👈

We noticed a big streak in the otherwise clear sky. Looking closer there was a fast moving plane at the top. The origin was south - far south. Being the southernmost capital city in Australia this seemed unusual. So a quick check of the flight activity identified that the flight was a Qantas scenic Antarctica flight (you can see the Qantas logo clearly on the tail).
It is interesting and sometimes rewarding to reinvestigate old haunts. On land I have often passed only 20 minutes from our place on the Shuswap, someone has cleared their land of trees. This large otherwise hidden pond (or is it very small lake) was then revealed and the possibilities for work began. With an overcast day that was interspersed with pockets of blue sky, I decided to look for reflections. The tree tops were bright from the soft light above, with their bases deep in shadow. And a landscape image of symmetry across the pond, appeared.
Ella was the type to lean a little more towards ‘live and let live’ when given the chance, but she didn’t take lightly being cheated or otherwise done wrong. It was the principal of the thing that she tended to take issue with. Even on the wrong side of the law, she still had a moral compass, though perhaps it didn’t always point due north.
Ella had met her share of shady characters throughout her travels. There was always some degree of dishonesty to a man, she reckoned, but it was all about how much you could live with at the end of the day.
Unfortunately, they’d pin these little tin stars to just about anyone’s chest that would have them, and sadly, hiding behind that little star tended to make a slightly bent man break completely bad.
Ella could wager the lawman had no clue what he was doing when he made eyes for the dappled stud she rode into town on, and she had hard money on the fact that he had no idea what he was calling down on himself when he pulled his gun on her, telling her she’d make it to see another day if she just handed over the reins. Little did he know…
There were few things she held in high regard these days, with all the hard living she’d come to know so well, but Mille and the dappled palomino were two things she held dearest. A history of loyalty had tied them together, and it would take more than some twisted town sheriff to pull them apart.
There are times when knowing when to fold means living to see another day, and though the reins about burned her hand as she handed them over, she knew she’d be seeing the man again, and very soon.

A lonely tree, in the middle of the ancestral timeless landscape that these wastelands under the starry sky makes, standing against the strong night wind, in the same way that my colleagues and I had to fight with that strong wind to take this picture in our first photographic outing of this year :-)

This time of the year, the Harlequin Glorybower tree (otherwise known as Clerodendrum trichotomum, glorytree or peanut butter tree) is full of white and blue pearls. These are the fruit of a quite elegant white flower. The transition from white buds to bright red stars is always a visual treat. www.thespruce.com/harlequin-glorybower-plant-profile-4802476
A portrait of the white breasted waterhen. It is quite common, but a very shy bird in general, so it is hard to get a good photo. However, in Bharatpur, these are quite accustomed to humans and very bold. This one in fact came so close that it did not fit in the frame.
On the weekend I visited High Falls in Muskoka. On a holiday weekend I was reminded why it's a bad time to go.
I concentrated only on a portion of the falls. Otherwise I would just be taking the same images I have taken before, and there were far too many people about.
Tried framing the little falls centre with the surrounding falling water. This is my favourite image from this trip.

Exploring at the riparian preserve. Lots of turtles this year and Jasper is absolutely fascinated by them. He's only off leash for photos though. Otherwise he'd be crawling under bushes and into ponds chasing turtles.

------------------------------ JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS ALONE!
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

Located in the west of Sutherland, Scotland, Suilven (731 m) - described by some as the lonely mountain - rises spectacularly from what is otherwise a relatively flat landscape of moorland, bogs, and lochs.
This photo taken from the top of Suilven was created from a scanned color negative and shows the surrounding countryside.
Clerodendrum quadriloculare, otherwise known as the Q-tip plant, is a species of flowering plant native to New Guinea and the Philippines. When I initially spotted this flowering plant in Hawaii, I assumed that it was man-made. What a delight to discover that it was real!
I had expected a fine morning but didn't expect the mist. Otherwise I would have got out of the house even faster. But this was the almost weird sight as I headed over from Biddulph Moor towards Rudyard. Strangely beautiful.
I was in two minds to crop the foreground out. What do you think?

The Grey Heron is the most common heron species in Central Europe. It can be found in various habitats, but it is probably most often seen in the shallow water zones of lakes or in meadows lying in wait for its prey. Its typical flight silhouette can be distinguished from the crane and the stork mainly by the retracted head. A striking feature on the otherwise predominantly grey and white plumage are the slightly elongated black crest feathers.

an image, a story
I think a good photo can provide an “access key” to a certain topic or situation, it makes us ask what, where, why, it awakens emotions, thoughts, memories of situations experienced and we want to know more.
At the same time, the careful reading of the image, its aesthetic/technical analysis can facilitate the understanding and memorization of concepts and events, ..... better if I stop here .....

This Stellar Sea Lion is keeping an eye on me but is otherwise not afraid and continues to swim in the area looking for salmon to eat.
Taken 16 September 2019 at Valdez, Alaska.
This is from April at Nisqually NWR. It's not a composite of two pictures (otherwise, it would be waaay better), it's just a weird thing that I was lucky to see happen.
It's hard to tell in this shot, but the bald eagle is chasing the peregrine falcon. It does give you a pretty good idea how much bigger eagles are than peregrine falcons.

“an awakening from the sleep-walking of daily life. It enables the Word to clear the silt away in the depth of the soul, freeing the spring of living waters. . . . It is the Word who acts, but we have to co-operate with him, not so much by the exertion of will-power as by loving attentiveness.”

“Brother, our desires are stilled by love. We want only what we have. To want more would be discordant with the will of Him who disposes us here, and in these circles there is no room for that, for here our being is in charity and cannot be otherwise.”
-Dorothy Sayers, Introductory Papers on Dante (Eugene, OR: Wipf & Stock, 2006), 57, referring to Paradiso III.70–72: “Brother, our will is stilled by the power of charity, which makes us wish only for what we have, nor do we thirst for anything beyond.”
While on my way to work I noticed the tail of a CP EB clearing thru Lovekin and made a quick detour at Westlyville. The morning fog mixed with the late sunrise made for abit of interest to an otherwise boring train.
I had to look twice when I saw this little white-breasted nuthatch today, since I thought my mind way playing tricks on me. However, this photo shows that my hunch was right - this nuthatch has crossed mandibles. I watched it for a while and it appeared normal otherwise and had no apparent problems with feeding. Maybe it will specialize in prying pine cones open like the white-winged crossbills do😊

So as I was saying before work has taken over and my flickr is hibernating for a while! but luckily for me one of my housemates is also a flickr fan (www.flickr.com/photos/92371050@N02/) and spotted this fella outside the back of our house trying to climb through a Dandelion flower so i managed to quickly snap him in action. Also ladybug or ladybird?
