美しい脚の形 美脚 The Fine Art of Photography,
白黒画像は、ハイコントラストで、なんだか、意味ありげな風を装っているのが流行りである。なんとも嫌味である。
白黒画像は、カラーの技術がなかったからで、それ自体は欠陥ともいえる。
自然界は天然色が当然で、純粋な白黒の世界なんてない。
撮影機材の未熟が、白黒作品を生み出したにすぎないのだ。
白黒はあまり威張れた代物ではない。むしろ、絵画能力の不足を露呈しているかもしれないのだ。
しかしながら、なおも、白黒がカラー作品よりも優れていることは事実である。
美は取捨選択し、削り取ったエッセンスに、より強烈に表れるからであって、だからこそ、色を抜いた白黒画像の魅力があるわけだ。

Multiple exposure composite of a passing cyclist, registered with a moving-subject-centered reference frame, then stacked.
Details
This stacked image de-emphasizes differences between three sequential photos by making them faint. Image registration on the moving bicycle introduced a shift for other features in successive images. Warping to align the cyclist caused him/her to be dark while other features became faint ghosts. (due to poor registration).

The last big storm of the winter arrived late, on April 14. We couldn't resist a walk during the heaviest snowfall. I selected a slow shutter speed, hoping for blurred snow and/or figures on a white background.
A beautiful day for a walk.

前ページのカラー作品である。同じ被写体でも、カラーと白黒とでは感じが違うのはもちろんだが、結局、こういった美しい形をとらえるには、白黒画像がカラー作品よりも適している、または鑑賞者へ効果的に美を伝えることができる。自然界はカラーであるが、そこからわざわざ彩度を取り去って、白黒にすることは作為でもあるから、私は好まないのだが、しかしながら、いっそうの形態美を伝えるには、白黒作品の方が優れていることは、明らかである。 追記、再び白黒にした。ただし、少し感じの違ったものにした。

人間の身体の造形は、女性美に勝るものはない。よって、すべての造形芸術は女性的なるものを最高とする。
男性の少年や青年の美術作品（例えば、アポロンやダビデ等の立体作品。ドナテッロ、日本では興福寺阿修羅等々）があるが、女性美が表現されているから、美しいのである。
I was wondering how to best photograph "nothing" when serendipity lent a hand:
1) improperly feed film into camera
2) wander around for a couple of weeks taking carefully chosen shots
3) send it off for developing
4) lab tells me: there's nothing here

運動をすると、こういう脚になるのかどうかは知らないが、ともかく、テニスをする足と脚。
Details
This modified Harris Shutter Effect image of a person walking on Broad street during heavy snowfall emphasizes things that move and other differences between three sequential photos while turning the background black. Falling snow acts as "white noise" against darker objects, rendering them in a surreal, multicolored, pointillist fashion.
