The loader managed to avoid the car parked too close to the street as it adds another scoop of snow to the pile beside the driveway.

The crews were at work this morning scraping the packed snow and ice from the street and piling it higher and higher along the sides of driveways and on curves. It's very hard to see cars coming out of driveways, or for the drivers of those cars to see traffic coming on the street.

This is a 2023 upload of a scanned image from my collection. Probably 95% come from slides, the remaining 5% are prints or negatives. They include my own Kodachrome slides, as well as other photographers, which are noted accordingly when the identity is known. All have been collected over the past 40+ years of shooting, exchanging, and purchasing. I was fortunate enough to trade with some of the best aircraft photographers in the world.

This archive was created in 2017, to place my collection in an easily accessible venue.

OPERATORS by TRANSFORMA (DE)

www.transforma.de

Operators is the culmination of a series of recent studio studies. These have been clustered together to form a stage of experimentation with the Operator at the center going about his work. Manipulating the surrounding elements, he creates acoustic and visual signatures which are spliced together to form a narrative. As images blend between artifice and the ‘reality break’, the resulting ‘film’ is juxtaposed against its very own ‘making of’.

In this live performance Transforma and sound artist Markus Hübner create a sound and video stream which treats video, original sound recordings and music in no hierarchical order.

I'm putting together a set of photos representing each of the people that operate an electrical power plant. Here we have an Outside Operator (me). The hand held device is for taking readings from equipment around the plant.

The safety glasses were very difficult to manage since they're so curved. They wrap around, so it's very difficult to manage the reflections. I found that I got the best results by moving the reflections to the top of the lenses.

Sunpak 333 reflecting off concrete wall to camera right (the large reflection).

The camera is hanging from a vertical conduit from its gorillapod and triggered with an ebay remote shutter release in my pocket.
