Chatroulette dance piece #1
Subtle intervention on ready made application. Through methods of improvisation and dance techniques the artists create their own interpretation regarding the use of a popular online portal used for quick nonchalant chat sessions. The action is done in the public space where an audience can observe the performance at plain sight or as voyeurs through the live screen projection.
The outcome is dictated by the dialogue between the performer and the medium with all it's constant variations. The rapid change of the online viewers, each with their own personal reaction to the dancer as well as the technical aspects of the technology used to communicate online, are all essential elements that add an uncontrolled aspect to the work.
