I wish Polaroid could get their color film as dialed in as the black and white film is. The color film is usually pretty good, but it's just not as consistently awesome as the monochrome. Just look at the dynamic range, resolution, and contrast! It looks so good while still delivering instant film character.
Anyway, this is another of my favorite places in Colorado from my most recent family vacation. Hard to beat standing by the side of a stream at elevation in the Rockies.

A coworker gave to me the Polaroid camera you see here, as well as a flash bar for it. I bought a SX-70 film pack for it to see if it still works. And it still works! It inspired this build. So after ordering a few pieces I thought would be useful, I built this LEGO replica in two nights.
Working feature: you can clearly see through the viewfinder!

This was weird... my SX-70 suddenly clunked, made a weird noise and the next couple of shots came out completely blank... and at the same time. Eek, not good. This was the next shot, and thankfully, after this all shots have been fine.
Guess that's mechanics for you.
Also, I'm quite happy with how this turned out... even though it's perfectly good (and in date, I believe) 600 film, I quite like this "blasted out" look.
