In 1978, the Malaysian Railways had one steam locomotive in regular revenue service, shunting the docks at Port Klang about 38kms south west of Kuala Lumpur.
564.36 'Temerloh' was one of 68 three cylinder Pacifics built for the Malaysian State Railway between 1938 and 1946. Converted to oil burning in the early 1950s it was fitted with Rotary Cam poppet valve gear.
In the mid-1990s it was restored and enjoyed a brief spell working the now defunct Peninsular Line luxury tourist train.
Every one of these items comes in at least 4 colors, making it very hard to figure out what to buy!!! ^^;

This is the village of Lourmarin in The Luberon (one of France's National Parks).
The village of Lourmarin is set in magnificent surroundings and radiates peace and serenity. It has spread on the lush plain around a small promontory at the top of which are a church and belfry. Everything works towards its beauty. The village is best seen from the road to Lauris: the castle emerging from dense vegetation, the Protestant temple, and finally the village itself, rising up on terraces to meet the church tower, with the added grace of Mediterranean vegetation.

Another cat - got this cat's face this time.
Did see someone walking a dog, the dog tried to chase the cat (not sure if it was this one though).
It's owner stopped it from harming the cat.
Black Bear standing over his just killed deer. I didn't see the take down, but I'll never forget the sounds the dying deer made. I'm sorry if this is too graphic for some. But I do love nature, and this is part of it.

This is the Argus One UAV Prototype designed by a company with the catchy title of World Surveillance Group. It's an Articulated vehicle and it looks pretty weird! It moves like a sky worm or something. I couldn't find a bigger picture.

One year ago today, on Saturday 24th January 2009, we sat in our vets surgery with Murphy on Graeme's lap - he was unable to walk and screaming in pain. He'd gone from a normal fit healthy dog to not being able to move in just 5 days. He'd been to the vets every day, had tests, x-rays and bloods taken but got steadily worse. We were referred by our vet (who later confessed she didn't think she ever see him again) as an emergency.
He was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Poly-Arthritis, and later on with Polymyositis. During the last 12 months he has suffered 3 major relapses, 4 smaller ones, his skin turned black, his hair fell out, he dropped 6kg, his breath became really smelly, he struggled with the drug side effects and in August was found to have severe bone marrow suppression with a dangerously low platelet count.
Following the bone marrow suppression his drug regime was changed (Medrone changed to Prednisolone and Azathiorpine stopped) and gradually his bloods improved. Since then we have very slowly tried to get his Preds down to a low maintenance dose. Today we have started the final step to an "Every Other Day" dose - we've never successfully reached this stage before. If he does have a wonky time then we now know his lowest dose and we know he can sustain it.
He is not looking his best with his tufty hair, baldy patches and scaly skin, but he's happy, waggy-tailed, full-of-beans, fairly fit and of a healthy weight. And he's still with us!
It's been a year of terrible lows and incredible highs. I've lost count of the amount of times this year we thought we'd lose him. We know it's a case of quality, rather than quantity but that's OK. We make sure that every day is as good as it can be for him and that for us everyday with him is a bonus.
We love you Murph... here's to the next 12 months.

Formula One Testing, Day Four, Friday 22nd February 2013. Barcelona, Spain.
Jean and Moses were thick as thieves last night, preferring the
company of each other to the chit-chat of boring adults mulling over
the political situation in Afghanistan. It brought tears to my eyes
to see them cracking up over his new favorite book series Diary of a
Wimpy Kid. They were having so much fun, in fact, that 7:45 came and
went with no one remembering that a certain 6 year old had to be put
to bed. When we finally noticed the time, they seemed too engrossed
to disturb them. Finally, at 9:15, we called a time-out and forced
the situation.
The Abrahamsons have reduced their meat intake to twice a week at
most. When we do eat meat, we make it the best we can buy (best being
a relative term that either means "organic" or means so freakin' good
we don't care what's in it). Tonight's impromptu gathering
necessitated a trip to the store for the good stuff. Jean's eating
habits have wavered over the months and we know her intake of
vegetables and good protein ebbs and flows with her memory of the last
time she ate. So we went for Waygu (American Kobe Beef) and grilled
up some serious burgers. We served them with sauteed mushroom and
pasilla chiles, and all the fixins worth piling on a burger. Some
crunchy snap peas dressed with sesame oil and soy sauce, and a little
cole slaw rounded out the meal. A good culinary time was had by all.
Jean wasn't quite sure what she was eating at first or how to eat the
burger, but Moses lead the instruction as only a 6 year old can: "You
don't even have to use a fork, Meema. You just pick up the whole
thing in your hands." He showed her how to spread the toasted bun
with chipotle mayonnaise and mustard, and she tucked right in. We
took a chance and gave her a 1/2 lb. burger, figuring the human vacuum
cleaner next to her would finish whatever she left. He didn't get the
chance.
With a little trepidation, we broached the subject of Mexico with her,
hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. "If you think I can
afford it, let's do it," she said. "You buy the tickets and I'll pay
you back." WOW. That was easy. Naturally, we're prepared for her to
be medically unable to make the trip, but at least this year it won't
cost us six grand to make the arrangements.
As grandson and grandmother were huddled together on the couch, we
whispered about her hygiene, which has become noticeable (not in the
good way). She's beginning to smell, either because her olfactory
glands are going (as they will) and she doesn't know to dry clean her
clothes, or she forgets to shower altogether, or -- as we've seen --
she forgets to use soap when she does shower. We plan to make a
discreet trip to the house, fill the shower with liquid soap (she
tends to forget to use the bar soap), and make a trip to the dry
cleaners. Hoping that will do it. Certainly, it wasn't worth
bringing up on such a wonderful evening!
Jean carried with her her new book, Franklin and Lucy. She's excited
for the book club and wants to get a jump on the reading. It's
doubtful she'll finish it, given her difficulty even reading the liner
notes on the back cover, but it gives her something to look forward
to, and that's always good. We are considering creating a Moses
Reading Club, with two members in it. She had so much fun with Moses,
and the books (on the NY Times Bestseller List) are that perfect happy
medium that makes them easy for her to understand, that we think a
weekly "meeting" might be just the thing for both of them.
Like I said, it was a perfect evening.
Im feeling a little over whelmed....why oh why did i take so many photos- new record! i am currently trying to edit all 900 photos i took and pick out my favorites. But slowly i will be uploading to keep my peeps wanting more.... mean i know! Stay tuned- this was my favorite vacation yet!! We had an amazing time!!

последний раз такие торосы в Юрмале, быле в 1978 году, как сейчас помню ;) тогда залив замёрз на 30 км, на сколько сейчас, синоптики замерить не могут, у них одна пара валенков, а идти надо вдвоём ;)
Tina and I bought tickets to iHeartRadio / Kiss 108 Jingle Ball on a whim and I'm glad we did! The show was amazing with performances by Daya, Ariana Grande, Tove Lo, DNCE, Niall Horan, Alessia Cara, Diplo, Ellie Goulding, and Shawn Mendes. We also got lucky with floor tickets so enjoy these great shots from the show!!
