III-3 -- COMET CHASER -- Rendezvous with Halley’s Comet could be achieved in 1986 by a Solar Sail spacecraft -- The Yankee Clipper -- envisioned by NASA-JPL scientists. The sail--thin aluminized plastic--would transform the Sun’s photon energy into usable spacecraft power. The Clipper could fly formation with the comet for weeks (even months) to study and photograph the phenomenon in depth.”

Nope. Ball dropped. Ship ‘solar’ sailed. Train left station. Money spent elsewhere (STS, Galileo, who knows). (Un)healthy dose of mismanagement? Bottom line being an inexplicable missed opportunity. But hey, it'll be back around in ~76 years...ugh.

Zealandia - 2015

Zealandia, originally called Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, it is a huge protected natural area where they are attempting to restore the biodiversity. The country's ecosystem has be damaged by the introduction of mammals (like weasels, rats, and mice), and the plan is for native spices (like kiwi and takahe birds, and the tuatara) to thrive. It's as close as Jurassic Park as I hope we ever come; with a huge perimeter fence all round, and cameras and monitors keeping tabs on the animals, birds, and reptiles. This is all to keep as much in as out.

This is taken from the foot of the Lower Lake, an old reservoir.

From last year in January when the foxes mated and I posted a 9 shot sequence from the day. Since then I have only added two more photos to the sequence, and now here are two more that fill in some gaps.

This shot details the day with the first 9 shots all posted on that image's page. And here's the Slideshow of all 13 images posted so far.

I was fortunate have time to get this as insects are notorious for moving away quickly. I tried, and managed to get the centre of the flower on the bottom left and the insect standing diagonally up into the top right. The different shades of yellow on the insect and flower complement eachother & draw attention to the red and black on the stripes.

ChristChurch Cathedral, Christchurch - 2015

Christchurch was devastated by a series of earthquakes between September 2010 and January 2012. The most deadly was on the 22 February 2011, in which 185 people were killed, and many buildings were damaged beyond repair. The most famous of these building is this Cathedral. However, I never came to this city to see the damage, but to see it's rebuilding, it's future.

The Cathedral was built between 1864 and 1904, but it was 'deconsecrated' after the quakes in 2011. The Anglican church want to demolish the remains and build a new one, but many local people want it rebuilt. However no decision has been made, and the congregation worship at the Transitional Cathedral (aka the Cardboard Cathedral) a few blocks away.

From fairies at the bottom of your garden to 'the borrowers' we are obsessed with the fantasy of little people in a

extension of those thoughts.

THANKS EXPLORE! Explored on July 15th, 2008

this was honestly the most beautiful sunset that i have had the chance to witness in my 37 years! Every second grew increasingly more breathtaking over about 45 minutes. The only PP i did on this image was to play with the black by a couple of stops in my RAW processor. it truly looked just like this! THis was the point at which the upper clouds looked like a celestial nebula! I am thankful to have witnessed this beauty. the picture was taken from my west facing balcony.

Mount Tongariro and Mount Ngauruhoe - 2015

Day 12 the road trip continued, and we passed the National Park of the clearest of days ever! It was a small kick in the nuts, but we had a sun filled days driving ahead, and we caught these cracking views.

State Highway 4, New Zealand - 2015

There is never a dull moment road tripping in New Zealand, the scenery is both stunning and amazing for one thing!

Summited Kebnekaise, The highest mountain in Sweden. We are thrilled to announce that we made it.One failed foot step and you are gone forever. We touched the cloud and pushed ourselves to the limit that we never did in our life time. The deadly glacier trail crossing in the alpines, risking life of me and my loved one, experiencing rain, snow, extreme gust (over 30 m/s) altitude sickness and everything turned out to be a threate. The first 2 KM was so freaking deadly risky that I almost gave up but I turned around after our Shepard's prayer. We met some failed hikers during the summit and everything was negative except our faith. Fear turned into strength, pain into glory, FAILURE wasn't an option. The breathtaking mountain turned out to be a deadly monster with disruptive weather change .Not gonna die until we see the GODs creation. The trail, the mountain itself doesn't want you to go there but there was no turning back.

we are not injured, not even a scratch but bearing millions of mosquito bites and blisters. The summit over pouring our self confidence and trust of ability of our limit.

Over 2000KM of driving,6 days of camping, took 3 days till the summit. 1 shepard , 3 hikers, over 54km hike,3 mountains were climbed during the summit, 18 hours to complete, 2.1 km elevation from the sea level.

Sky Tower, Auckland - 2015

The Sky Tower is 328m high to the top of the spire, and 222m to the top floor (where there is a very cool observation deck), so it's no wonder you can see it from pretty much everywhere in the city.

The moon slowly found its way out from the shadows! :)

make it count.

I still can't believe that I managed to get this...my camera was still in the bag when he approached. I was struggling to get it out of my pack, but he was looking directly at me. Frenzied, I dug around in the bag, as the moment slowly ticked away. I could have gotten a beautiful portrait, but as soon as I got the camera on and focused, he was turning away. I learned the hard way, but I'm still happy to have gotten this shot, with his tongue sticking out, that one was just as random. I don't know which is better, a straight on coyote face, or a caption worthy meme?

A cenote is a natural pit, or sinkhole, resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath...There are over 6,000 cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula alone...Cenotes were sacred to the Ancient Mayan people, who used them not only as a source of water but also for sacrifices...Cenotes are still sacred to the Mayan people today, meaning most cenotes are closed off from public use...

The song "Once in a Lifetime" by the Talking Heads immediately popped into my head when I saw this vista...

Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down

Letting the days go by, water flowing underground

Into the blue again after the money's gone

Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground

Same as it ever was

Same as it ever was

Same as it ever was

Same as it ever was...

Taken on Wednesday morning prior to sunrise, from a sacred Aboriginal site which is usually out of access at this time of day.

Ubirr, in Kakadu National Park, is an ancient aboriginal site famous for its fascinating rock art and an awesome spot to watch the sun set over the massive open expanse that is Kakadu and it's wetlands. The traditional owners of this land agreed to allow access to this viewpoint for the eclipse on 14th Nov 2012, which happened on sunrise in the NT, around 6:15am.

I doubt I will ever get another chance to shoot a sunrise from this location, which is why I like this shot so much, I think! I love the location, the landscape is stunning, the rock itself is even beautiful! 360degree views of the landscape around us. Sunset actually looks out on to Kakadu's wetlands, the east looks over to Arnhem land. Access to Arnhem land is restricted as it is Aboriginal owned, but I will make it there next season! Remote, rugged escarpment and the East Alligator river divides Kakadu and Arnhem land and the rock in the distance you see here is that escarpment.

Magpie geese in their hundreds were flying overhead as the light made it's way over the trees (and then disappeared again, as it was a total eclipse, nearly!).

A beautiful morning :)

David Byrne has a fashion 'moment' during his recent concert at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow. Honestly, it was almost Tutu much! :-)

This was during the first encore (as I recall) where the band were playing 'Burning Down the House'. Everyone on stage was wearing a white tutu.

Rock AND Roll....Woo-Hoo!

Anyway....it was a fabulous concert from one of my favourite musicians.

On several occasions during 2005, a luminous cross with an outline of a shield appeared on our backyard fence. Again in 2006, the same miraculous cross was visible on Palm Sunday. (Update: On September 3, 2007, and September 6, 2008, the bright cross again appeared on our property). Through discernment, it's a miraculous sign of God's angelic shield of protection through the intercession of Saint Michael the Archangel. I attribute the sign sent from heaven as a result of my Prayer to Saint Michael for assistance during times of spiritual discord.

My wife Teresa and daughter Lauren checked windows and rooms and could not find any source of reflections. The interesting point is that the sun was rising behind the fence in the east, while the image appears on the front, as if the sun is shining onto the fence from the west! However, the luminous cross appeared brighter than the sun. When the image first manifested, our family had been encountering adversity and some difficulty with our son. However, the issues have since mitigated through God's spiritual presence. When encountering obstacles, prayer can have amazing and powerful results! Indeed, nothing is impossible through Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior.

In a problematic world of derision, our faith in prayer is necessary for God's divine intervention and protection. God's plan is designed to help validate His existence to humanity, especially at times when circumstances appear to be hopeless. The Bible conveys the following in John, Chapter 4, Verse 48: Jesus said, “Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders, you will never believe.”

News Item: Please visit my new website at the following link: www.Christian-Miracles.com

Update: Shortly after the appearance of the luminous cross of September 3, 2007, the Lord conveyed through a spiritual locution/impartation, His Will of 'restoring stability' in our millennium and affirmed Revelation, Chapter 20, Verse 1-3: "Then I saw an angel come down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the abyss and a heavy chain. He seized the dragon, the ancient serpent ... and tied it up for a thousand years and threw it into the abyss, which he locked over it and sealed, so that it could no longer lead the nations astray until the thousand years are completed ..." Through discernment, the miraculous cross is a sign to humanity of God's Will to usher in an era of peace by fulfilling Biblical prophecy with the power of Jesus Christ and shield of Saint Michael the Archangel. However, we must prepare by joining together in prayer for God's peace and divine protection and remain patient, in order for Jesus to set the stage and timing for signs and miracles to unfold in the world. For updates on signs and wonders, please visit my blog at the following link: lenarpoetry.blogspot.com/

The circumstances behind the event is a result of God imparting me with a vision of our world Blessed in Peace during a spiritual visitation on September 8, 1991. Please visit the following link to read my inspirational story: lenarpoetry.com/MiracleoftheSun.html

Update: On Wednesday, March 19, 2008, I visited my spiritual advisor, Father Richard Tartaglia of Saint Mary's Church, Denville, NJ. I communicated to Father Richard a message imparted to me by Jesus regarding a sign that the Lord would send elsewhere with a cross similar to what appeared on my property in 2005, 2006, and 2007 in order to affirm my story and validate it as truth.

The Gloucester County Times of Woodbury, New Jersey, reported that on March 23, Easter Sunday, 9 year old Gwynna photographed a cross reflecting on a neighbor's house. Her mother and a neighbor were unable to find the source of the reflection. "I thought it was a reflection from the sun, I don't know. It came on Easter and thought that was pretty cool," Gwynna said. The story appears in the March 25, 2008 issue of the Gloucester County Times with a color photograph of the cross printed on the front page of the newspaper.

For more details on Gwynna's photograph and story, please order a copy of the March 25 issue from the Gloucester County Times at 309 S. Broad Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. A brief version of the story with a photo appears on NJ.com at the following link:

www.nj.com/south/index.ssf/2008/03/9yearold_captures_cros...

I supplied several prints of the image that appeared on my fence to Father Richard Tartaglia of Saint Mary's Church, Denville, New Jersey (USA) for his prudent and faith related assessment. He has Blessed the photograph at my request. I've known Pastor Richard for over a decade as my spiritual advisor. Pastor Richard is a source for imparting testimonial on behalf of the Lenar Family in connection to the spiritual events occurring in my life (Loci B. Lenar).

I give praise and glory to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as well as thanks to the Blessed Mother (Our Lady of Fatima) for all the gifts and spiritual wonders unfolding.

Cathedral Square, Christchurch - 2015

The Chalice is a reminder that before the quakes ChCh was a vibrant and modern city. Built in 2000, it is an 18 metre high inverted cone made from 42 aluminium hexagons each depicting a native plant and leaf. It was built to celebrate 150 years of Christchurch, and is designed by local, but internationally recognised, artist Neil Dawson.

Soundshell, Napier - 2015

The centre of Napier is really the Soundshell, it is a unique centre piece for the rebuilding from the devastating earthquakes of 1931. It was the heart of restyling the city as a 'modern city of the future', and was funded by citizens 'buying' paving slabs etc... crowdfunding pre-internet!

It is an open air public events arena, with an 'outdoor dancing area'.
