Excerpt from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dongdaemun_Design_Plaza:
Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is a major urban development landmark in Seoul, South Korea, designed by Zaha Hadid and Samoo, with a distinctively neo-futuristic design characterized by the "powerful, curving forms of elongated structures." The landmark is the centerpiece of South Korea's fashion hub and popular tourist destination, Dongdaemun, featuring a walkable park on its roofs, large global exhibition spaces, futuristic retail stores, and restored parts of the Seoul fortress.
The DDP has been one of the main reasons for Seoul's designation as the World Design Capital in 2010. Construction started in 2009, and it was officially inaugurated on March 21, 2014. It is physically connected to Seoul Subway via Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station on Line 2, 4, and 5.
The Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) was designed by British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, winner of the 2004 Pritzker Prize, with the concept of "Metonymic Landscape". Metonymy refers to a method of describing a specific object indirectly, and Hadid integrated historical, cultural, urban, social, and economic aspects of Seoul deduced from this method in order to create a scene of the landscape. Designed as a cultural hub in the historical district of Seoul, South Korea's largest fashion district, the DDP is composed of undulating surfaces that resemble the flow of liquid and allow flexibility in space. The state-of-the-art BIM (Building Information Modeling), mega-truss (extra-large roof truss) system, and space frame system are the key features in terms of creating grand-scale spaces. According to Hadid, the fundamental features of her design were "transparency, porousness, and durability." Many ecological features, including a double-skin facade, solar panels, and a water recycling system, are included in the building.
The construction project for replacing Dongdaemun Stadium with a public park has been discussed in the media since 2000, and the city of Seoul established a basic master plan for alternating the function of Dongdaemun Stadium in 2005. Upon the advice of architects, and in order to secure a high-quality design for the new landmark of Seoul, the city invited architects in February 2007 to participate in a design competition. The city requested that the architects include a design plaza, underground spaces, a history park, and a culture park in the project, according to the guidelines. Zaha Hadid's Metonymic Landscape won the competition.
The exterior envelope of the DDP, a smooth and giant mushroom-like structure floating above ground level, is made of concrete, aluminum, steel, and stone. The interior of the building is finished with plaster reinforced with synthetic fiber, acoustic tiles, acrylic resin, stainless steel, and polished stone in the interior.

Père Lachaise Cemetery (French: Cimetière du Père-Lachaise [simtjɛʁ dy pɛʁ laʃɛːz]; formerly cimetière de l'Est, "Cemetery of the East") is the largest cemetery in Paris, France (44 hectares or 110 acres). With more than 3.5 million visitors annually, it is the most visited necropolis in the world.
The Père Lachaise is located in the 20th arrondissement and was the first garden cemetery, as well as the first municipal cemetery in Paris. It is also the site of three World War I memorials. The cemetery is located on the Boulevard de Ménilmontant. The Paris Métro station Philippe Auguste on Line 2 is next to the main entrance, while the station Père Lachaise, on both Line 2 and Line 3, is 500 meters away near a side entrance.
Staroměstská (Czech pronunciation: [ˈstaromɲɛst.skaː]) is a Prague Metro station on Line A. It was opened on 12 August 1978 as part of the inaugural section of Line A, between Leninova and Náměstí Míru.
The station is located under Kaprova street in the Old Town (its name means 'Old Town' [station]). There is currently one entrance through an escalator tunnel from the corner of Kaprova and Valentinská streets (with the Old Jewish Cemetery, Municipal Library and Rudolfinum within one or two minutes walk). There were also plans to build a second escalator tunnel with an entrance from the northeast corner of the Old Town Square which would use and show to the public a preserved cellar of a medieval house (like the ruins of a medieval bridge at Můstek station), but this has been postponed indefinitely due to financial constraints.

NMBS M6 coaches + class 18 locomotive as train on line S 35 Noorderkempen - Antwerpen Centraal at Overbeek.
Bull Street station on Line One of the Midlands Metro, in Birmingham city centre, West Midlands.
The Midlands Metro opened in 1999, mostly using a disused railway trackbed. The extension into Birmingham city centre, was approved in 2012, and is expected to be operational by 2015. From Snow Hill the tramway will run along Colmore Circus, Upper Bull Street, Corporation Street and Stephenson Street, with three stops. The second phase of the extension to Centenary Square will then run from Stephenson Street along Pinfold Street, turning into Victoria Square where a new stop will be located alongside the Town Hall. It will then run along Paradise Street to Paradise Circus then turn onto Broad Street, where it will continue to its terminus on Centenary Square.
Various other extensions, including entirely new lines, have been proposed but not yet approved. These include a line from Wednesbury to the Merry Hill Shopping Centre, again making use of a disused railway trackbed, on a line shared with heavy rail.

A dombóvári honos 235-ös Szergej gurul a 46-os vonalon Nagydorog felé. Ezen a napon a mozdony gépmenetben érkezett Dombóvárról Sárbogárdra, ahol 7 önürítős kőszállító kocsi élére állt, majd folytatta útját Nagydorog felé. A kocsikból a zúzottkövet (egy kocsi kivételével) Bikács község közelében szórták ki, körülbelül 1,5 km hosszan.
The Dombóvár-based No. 235 "Sergej" is rolling on line 46 towards Nagydorog. On this day, the locomotive arrived from Dombóvár to Sárbogárd, where it was placed at the head of 7 self-dumping cars and then continued its journey towards Nagydorog. The ballast (except for one wagon) was spread from the cars near the village of Bikács, over a distance of about 1.5 km.
Agnes: Alright guys, I think this may have gone too far.
Bruno: What do you mean gone too far? You're sitting right beside me.
Agnes: I mean this book. I'm not entirely comfortable with attention from people beyond my core group.
Bruno: That may be the craziest thing that you've ever said. Attention from random strangers is great. They all love me.
Eva: I think the book looks great. It captures my true spirit - intelligent, beautiful and humble.
Bruno: I take excellence to that.
Eva: Don't you mean "exception to that"?
Bruno: Nope. Definitely excellence to that. I'm excellent at intelligence.
Eva: Sometimes I don't think you hear yourself.
Bruno: Sometimes I hear too much of you. And hey - who's that handsome dog sitting on that hill in the placemat?
Agnes: Dude, it's you!
Bruno: I knew that. Because he's handsome and I'm excellent at intelligence.
Eva: And also, it's a page proof from the book - not a placemat.
Bruno: I disagree. It's a placemat because anything that you put food on is a placemat. So I'm just going to sit here and stare until someone puts a big pile of cookies down on it.
----------
This is an exciting time. For about the past year and a half I have been working on a book of dogversattions. It is now so close to done that it is starting to feel real.
There will be two versions of the book. On the table are page proofs of an interior page, the cover (partly hidden) and a 'test print' of the premium version which is landscape format and on glossy paper. This will be the version that I am getting a print run on with 1,000 copies being shipped to me later this week. I have arrangements to sell this through a couple of local book stores and the University of Saskatchewan. A portion of the UofS sales will be donated to the vet college companion fund to pay for treatments of animals in need.
Because of printing and general distribution costs of this version would be too high, we are also putting together a smaller square format non-glossy version that will be available through on-line sellers such as Amazon and be available to be stocked in physical book stores around the world.
More information will be on my website in the next couple of weeks. www.DogversationsBook.com
And by the way - Bruno was mostly right about the placemat. There was a motivational cheerio on the book that I cloned out in post-processing.

A Red River Valley & Western westbound swings off the main west of Mooreton, ND, and onto the loop track at a fairly new Minn-Kota facility. The hoppers going in were all RRVW second hands, (many D&H), and were loads. So I'm guessing they have some sort of on line shuttle delivering here, thus taking trucks off the road. With business like this, the class one sharks must be salivating!

this was done with a motion blur effect with my camera lens..and a selected crop...my first attempt... I already LOVE this technique...lets me be creative and artistic at the same time...and you all know how much I love faces...this was actually focused on a planter on my back porch all dressed up for Autumn...facing the best light..it almost looks as if I layered it but no work was done other than minor color intensification and my signature...all you need is a lens that can zoom and you are in control of the effects and a longer than normal exposure..and a tripod ...you do not want the camera and the subject to move....much info on line to help you out..try this technique if you haven't already done so... you will grow and have fun at the same time...the great thing about this time of year is I get to focus on art expression since the gardens aren't as demanding now and the RAIN has set in...what better time to explore your photography skills...stay blessed my friends!
Last Saturday's Railway Touring Club steam outing "The Christmas Cheshireman" was subject to a couple of amendments, firstly, Tangmere was substituted with one of the Riley Black 5's, 45407. Secondly, the tour terminated at Shrewsbury, missing out on it's intended destination of Chester.

After being and on-and-off-again avid cyclist, with my 40th birthday rapidly approaching, I've decided to go back to the absolute cycling basics; ride a single speed, fixed gear bike.
My intention was to source and old racing frame and build a fixie myself, but a quick search on-line unearthed this second-hand beauty for sale.
It's an On-One Pompino frame with a Muscle carbon fork, Planet X front wheel, HALO Aerorage rear wheel and fixed hub.
It's a short, but steep, learning curve on riding a fixie, but what an experience. Highly recommended.
