This female Cardinal was waiting for her turn for a bath.

This month I did a pictorial spread on one of my favorite designers Zibska, I have been a fan since I first came to Second Life all those years ago and it's an honor for me to present her unique and awesome designs in the magazine.

(My best friend and traveling companion- and very old fashioned- we didn't meet on line!!)

Anyone for real Majong? Not the on- line matching pairs game some of us play when we're really bored. This is the Chinese version originated in the Quing Dynasty (1636 - 1912). A modern day comparison to this intricate game is Canasta.

Have a great Monday everyone.

Take during an organized walk with some friends. We met, to take some pictures of the various under ground stations here in Munich.

Goal was to take pictures of several stations within Munic. There is even an dedicated group on flickr, www.flickr.com/groups/u-bahn-muenchen/

For this trip, we decided on line U2, starting from the final stop Feldmoching towards main station. This photo, taken at the station Feldmoching is under exposed about 2 steps in order to highlight the open doors with LED stripes at the newer car models in Munich. Additionally, the station itself was lit a little bit on the dark side. Also recognizable, the windows of the train are covered with foil or treated somehow, because there is little light transmitting from the inside of the car.

Little Wattlebird (Anthochaera chrysoptera)

From this day last year, it has been very wet again here, today, another 30mm (1 1/4 inches) of rain Giving us a very welcome 60mm of rain in the last eight days.

I've posted a day shot of this ship but I feel like the night shot looks interesting. I just found out Galveston is offering day sails to tourist. Checked it out on line and it's $300 dollars a person. So, looks like I won't be going out for a day sail anytime soon.

Common dandelion

Scientific name: Taraxacum officinale

Biology:

Dandelion flowers from May to October but most profusely in May and June. A period of low temperature seems to intensify flowering but daylength does not have a great influence. Seedlings that emerge in spring may flower in their first year. Established plants that bloom in spring can flower again in autumn. The time from flowering to seed ripening is about 9-12 days. The fruiting period is from April to June. A flower head can produce up to 400 seeds but the average is 180. A plant may have a total of 2,000 to 12,000 seeds. Cut down flower stems do not produce any viable seed.

Dandelion seeds are wind dispersed and may travel up to 500 miles from the parent. Seeds have been recovered from irrigation water and can survive submergence for 9 months. Viable seeds have been found in cattle and horse droppings. Seedlings have been raised from the droppings of various birds.

As Food and Drink:

Did you know you can make wine out of Dandelions? There are lots of recipes for making Dandelion wine on-line. Or that the young leaves go great in salads? In fact, the family of plants that the Dandelion belongs to also includes lettuce! If you let a lettuce plant go to flower in your garden you'll see what I mean. And the roots of dandelions can serve as a coffee substitute when baked and ground. (Hint: if you are a real coffee aficionado, don't try this.) Hey, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade, or in this case if you have a yard full of Dandelions eat'em and drink'em. Apparently, you can make green and yellow dyes from the flowers, too.

Hi flickr,

My computer's now back on line, finally. Looking forward to visiting your streams again..

I'll be flying out to Philly tomorrow, so will see you all shortly, once I get there. Have a great week..

When I saw this butcher shop on Elizabeth street in NoLita I was quite saddened.I searched the story on line because I wanted to know what happened to this wonderful butcher and his business.

Moe Albanese, known to many as Moe the Butcher unfortunately died from COVID-19 back in April, just days short of his 96th birthday (see right window).I just broke down and cried when I read that.Moe's parents opened up the butcher shop in 1923.He learned the trade from his mother, his father was an immigrant from Sicily.Albanese took over the business in 1956.The meats he sold were of the highest quality and he generated a lot of customers through the years. As he grew old his granddaughter,Jennifer Prezioso, joined the business adding modern touches to the shop. They eventually had to close it due to the pandemic. His granddaughter posted updates on Moe's condition on her Instagram page when Albanese fell sick up until the moment he died. She also wrote a beautiful eulogy on his life on the page.

The MIRACULOUS STAIRS in Santa Fe New Mexico USA.

The stairs have a very interesting story that I recommend reading on-line.

The stairs were made without nails, screws, or glue. Their is no center post and it is free standing with wood that is not indigenous in the USA.

It was made by a carpenter who no one knows, knocked at the door of the chapel asking if they wanted stairs to be built so that they can get to the loft after the nuns had a novena to St. Joseph asking for the stairs. The carpenter left without asking or receiving anything for his labor when the stairs was completed.

The stairs was initially built without railings. The railings were added a few years after.

The stairs was used by the choir for 100 years.

Remote learning, phone visit to your doctor, virtual concerts, grocery truck delivery, robots take-out delivery, zoom business meetings. Those are only some of the changes and benefits mankind experienced in last 2 years. Remote Colonoscopy is much less invasive, having a boss looking over your shoulder is the thing of the past.

The photo is of course 'Fake News'; a benefit of the Trump era, which will continue ad nauseum. The kids are not studying; they are following the adventure of Wuggy Huggy or is it "Huggy Wuggy"? If you do not know what it is, don't worry, you did not miss anything.

On Whit Monday, Railtraxx's 266 009-0 still in Captrain livery, drove a set of lime slurry wagons from Cologne to Antwerp. These wagons would then be driven on June 3 to Terneuzen in the Netherlands ! The wagons are intended for a new traffic that will be started soon between Terneuzen (NL) and Virton (BE).

Here the train passes in Linkhout on line 35.

... to central Maryland.

After working from home again today (luckily I am able to do that with my occupation), took a walk outside near my home where there is an osprey nest nearby. Lots of action near the nest today and fun to be there and get some lens time snapping away. A nice break from the nearly constant coordination and on-line meetings that filled the day.

The work I do is considered essential ... but I am still able to do nearly all of it without having to be in the office. So staying home as much as possible and only venturing out as needed to address items at project sites. The coordination between staff on our design projects is actually more time consuming when not able to discuss in person as a Team, but we are getting used to the on-line collaboration and coordination. The days actually seem shorter time wise ... but also longer as the coordination seems to almost never end considering the need to stay in touch. Bit of a paradox actually.

Stay safe everyone.

Mrs. Krach is also back to doing some on-line teaching with her students, and in her spare time continues to make medical masks for the local hospitals. She has made over 160 masks so far in the past week. More of the local hospitals as asking for more.

With the help of one of my Flickr Friends I found out that the Deep Dream Generator had updated so got to playing around and some how I found Night Cafe that does some of the same things that Deep Dream does... I put the words Mounatain pass in and the on line program gave me the background pass.. I then added the Mountain Goats.. Gotta like something that you can play with and it doesn't cost you money...
