Apparently it's international gin and tonic day.

I went looking for fungi, but it hadn't rained and it was later in the day so not much luck there. I did however spot two new remembrance benches in the cemetery, but it looks like they are being 'saved' for November.

Last day in Newquay and the surf is up agin

Cheeky camera-phone shot to start off the day. It's always about the camera you have with you, not the best camera you own.

I left it too late in the day to do anything outdoors and had to resort to a quick indoor shot. I did dust the pedestal, but can see it actually needed washing, and the pumpkin is too tight in the frame. Whatever, this is today's shot of an ornamental pumpkin.

Harry the horse has been off games since January.. he's nearly better now, getting fit on a leading rein but not allowed to be ridden quite yet. Hopefully in the next week or two.

The cows sometimes get under the apple trees to eat the fallen apples.

On our cider bottles we mention how the cows used to eat all the cider apples before we restarted making Ashcombe Cider and now they are sad. In fact from this year they are fed all the apple pomace which comes from cider pressing.

Another day done

Good to see the ladies out in the field too

No chance for outdoor photography today, so time for Beryl to make an appearance. I've put her on a pedestal and in the spotlight where she deserves to be.

I installed a new bird feeding stand and feeders a couple of days ago and was pleased to see on day 2 that a Goldfinch was visiting, as I rarely got them on my old feeder.

20 October.... 900 shots today and I had to choose just one! Really loving the 100-400mm Canon L, the precision and clarity are out of this world. Good job I heft it around with me as this image would be a lot harder to get. This is a triple exposure fusion, using a fence post as a make-shift tripod. View On White

Another reflection - this time of a bridge under construction

Out on a walk with my friend, we came to two pathways in close proximity and for a few minutes we weren't sure which was the right way. We only knew which way we didn't want to go.

But actually she might be a Harvestman. Waiting for ID on actual species but possibly Leiobunum rotundum.

Had a lovely day on Sunday meeting up for the first time with two long time Flickr friends Julie and Julie-Ann [https://www.flickr.com/photos/julieswright/] [https://www.flickr.com/photos/jagylys] at Charlecote Park in Warwickshire, a National Trust Property. This is the front of the main house.

There's a lot of hoarding goes on in my garage, none of it mine. However it has provided a subject for my photo for today. My OH's roller skates hanging by their laces from the beams, c1970's/early 1980's. The wheels have probably not turned for over 30 years, yet still they hang there!

Walking down the beautiful beech avenue I find that some scumbag has just dumped a load of builders rubble here.... Nice one you utter ****.

20 October. I rather liked the green moss growing in the middle of the lane.

I went looking for moths this morning which tend to congregate around my front door, but instead found this critter. (It's still there this evening). Not sure what it is yet, but will put in a couple of groups for ID. I'm thinking some sort of plant bug or longhorn, but don't really know.

More trippy zoom-blur craziness.... Sorry not an original concept from me... I'll invent something new soon!

13 October.... a brief moment of sunshine on another showery day. This is Teignmouth Pier.

A bit of a Marmite shot this one.... either people like it.... or not! I did have another one to post so we'll see how that goes down in due course.

I've been wanting to take a photo of the newly painted florist for a while, but there is excessive roadworks street signs and traffic lights behind me making it not so easy to get the shot I was. Also nasty street sign shadows today. I will try again, but for now this is my photo 11/31 for October picture a day.

A foul weather day so no outdoor shots from me today, and I struggled for inspiration indoors too. In the end settled for an abstract still life.
