Over-processed but a good excercise on the programs

Taken for this week`s challenge from MacroMonday: Frozen

Happy New Year to all viewers!!

After several days of really crap cold grey weather I've had to cheer myself up by (over)processing the brightest greenest pic I could find !

Wonder what it is?? (I have most likely over processed it!)

A submission to Sliders Sunday, where over-processing is encouraged. On a rainy day, Sydney Opera House gets the "soft" treatment.

Very over processed shot of an first generation Tesla Motors Model S captured in the wilds of downtown Sanford, Florida.

Thanks for all the likes, comments and support !!

Sidenote: Here in this picture, I deliberately picked up a high f number (10) to keep the dof high! I may have over-processed a little too high by dragging clarity button to the right (global changes) . it was shot during my last Uttarakhand trip in May 2015 at Rudraprayag in the sunny morning.

later dropped to 636!! (did some research with Kracht Dataset Tool for Explore: goo.gl/MZXC00 to see the longtail )

Wish you all a very Happy World Photography Day

My first attempt at post-processing an HDR (created in Photomatix) with GIMP. Its probably a little over processed which resulted in some halos around the minarets. I might also have been a tad too liberal with the unsharp mask.

Post processing steps involved a Curves mask layer for contrast and a mask layer for Hue/Saturation (Blue) for the sky.

If you're interested in learning how to do this, you might find the following two links useful:

And as always, I'm open to constructive criticism.

Thanks for stopping by :)

The view at the start of one of the trails I like to walk at the Rocky River Reservation Metro Park. Sometimes it's nice and quiet with very few people, and other times....well, just the opposite. I realize I had over-processed this photo when I first posted it so I went back to the RAW file and re-processed it to more accurately reflect the scene.

ok so here we go. The most goofy question after someone looks at your photos is " so have you used Photoshop to enhance your photos? "

now we have 2 issues here.

what exactly photo enhancing is?

is using Photoshop some sort of cheating ?

i am not sure what is the exact answer of this question. but what i know so far is post processing is as important as taking a photo to begin with. it is true that some people over process their photos and they look like cartoons.

So what Photoshop i have done with above photo.

1. crop the original photo to get the piece i liked.

2. increased the saturation a lil bit

3. added my signatures so no one can claim :)

Your input / thoughts are valuable and appreciated. Thanks in advance

A three exposure HDR shot of the famous Shibuya 109 department store with a billboard for J-Pop singer Kaela Kimura . This one is intentionally over-processed for use in an article about gyaru culture. :-)

This is the next installment in the Perfect Imperfections Series. Did I forget to mention that all the photo's would be of this performer. She was kind of the last thing I was out shooting.

At At the end of August this Disney performer was the feautured performer at a city's Concert in the Park Series and I made the trek over to see her. This is part of a series I call "Perfect Imperfections". There has been several articles on how over processed portraits are and that they no longer reflect reality. So in this series I will just be adding and removing light (no spot healing brush or other similar tools). And yes she gave me permission to use anything I take.

Photo wise this is uncropped (I was close using a 300mm). Editing was just adding and removing light. Since she was in the shade so I let LR adjust the tempature to shade.

Oh the title? She was singing Journey's Separate Ways when this was taken.

This little one had some sort of socially distanced trick-or-treating event for her dance club. Tried to darken it down and given it a bit more of the Halloween feeling, but it may have just ended up coming-out looking over processed.

A submission to Sliders Sunday, where over-processing is encouraged. Some cirrus clouds get the "Starry Night" treatment.

Taken about a half mile down from the Vernal Falls bridge, near Happy Isles about 20 MInutes to dusk. I love the color although it does look a bit over processed... HDR..

Happy Sliders Sunday!

there are few photos I over process...this is probably the #1 exception. It was edited in photoscape which is a really nice little free downloadable program.

bumpy - odt...I think NY has the worst roads I've ever been on...comparable to the outback. As you can see the footpaths are no exception!

thank's so much for stopping by...your comments are always thoroughly enjoyed! please bear with me as my blackberry is slow & tedious and I'm waiting for your photo to load ;)

I know this is over processed, but I like the look on this overcast/misty morning next to a storm drain dumping into Lake Michigan.

How much cement in Rupee 20K ?

Attempting to work on my composite game. This is a bit over processed in my opinion. What are your thoughts?

- I have decided I am almost to that day where I will begin to stop over-processing my shots, but I really like stuff like this. Hi my name is Kristin and I am a selective color layer addict. Cyan, Red, and Magenta are my weaknesses...

I went out to mess around today and this was my favorite shot out of the ones I took, which were honestly about 35. But I like it. And I'm pretty happy about that. I do have a feeling you all won't like it too much, but that's life sometimes. :) Oh well, all is still well.

Not sure what I'm going to shoot tomorrow, but I will make time for it. I slacked Friday, but I'm caught up. And it was still fun.

P.S. - Mike, I know I'm out of focus ;)

TTYL!!! xoxoxo!

Yuki got over-dressed and over-processed for today’s We’re Here theme.

Dumetella carolinensis) Thomson Marsh, Kelowna, BC.

This image is a bit over-processed, but included because (s)he was in the midst of his/her glorious songs....

BTTL Photowalk Dec'13. More somewhat over processed shots from the edge of the River Severn in the 'shadow' of the original bridge. Before the bridge opened in 1966 a ferry operated in this area which must have been tricky with the second highest tidal range in the world. Such a grey day...

Transportation regularly features in my photo stream in the form of my over processed technique applied to many a motor vehicle so wanted to do something a bit different. Being back at work now after a very enjoyable 2 weeks off I didn't get a chance to get out and about with the camera. Editing some images from a day trip to Bekonscot Model Village during my holiday this little gem presented itself and so became my entry for week 36.

This was the 12.15 from Bekonscot Station, transporting the residents from here to there about their daily business, then back again on a non stop loop.

The only thing missing from this image is unfortunatley the steam chuffing out from the engine (maybe a job for Photoshop later)

Next week I will be part of the support crew that will be following a team of my work colleagues as they cycle from Welwyn Garden City to Edinburgh, a distance of approx 420 miles. All in the name of charity, this year raising money for Diabetes UK, with a target of raising £10.000 for this worthy cause. As part of my role as support crew I will also be the official photographer of the event (any excuse to get the camera out eh).

Have a great week everyone, see you in 37!!

I got my hair cut today!

Well I got it trimmed a bit. I am still a bit shell shocked from the foot or so that I cut off about 5 months ago. But I did get it colored for the summer. Just a tad lighter, a tad. Nobody will even be able to tell but me haha.

It feels weird to have my hair straight, it has been a bit afro-ish lately with all this humidity. I am guessing it is only a matter of a couple of minutes before it starts to get poofy. So I thought I would photograph it before that took place.

Way over processed, but hey, I like the efffect....

A submission to Sliders Sunday, where over-processing is encouraged. Some early morning swimmers at Manly Beach (Sydney), processed for a hazy look.

First attempts at HDR tone-mapping, merging multiple exposures to increase dynamic range. This one turned out a little over-processed looking, but I kind of like it.

Originally taken in June this year. A little Neolithic Passage Tomb, perched on a hill above Ballintoy.

See where this picture was taken. [?]

A big thanks to Stu Patterson for suggesting a trip up to Low Hauxley this morning. Although my tired body didn't want to get out of bed, the 5 minutes of great colour we had made it all worth while.

On a technical note, with a Sony A6000 joining the family, I've taken the leap from processing things in Canon DPP to using Lightroom and boy do I have a lot to learn! If anything looks either over-processed or different to my normal style, it's purely down to incompetence, not a change of style! Let me know - it's the only way I'll learn.

EOS 50D / Sigma 10-20mm / Hitech 0.6 RG

In the pleasant company of Stu Patterson and David Burn. Great catching up with you both again

Over coloured and over processed no doubt, but . . . I like it :)

Better than On Grey

Taken with my iPhone. Processed initially with the phone's Camera Bag application's Lomo filter. Then further tweaked by my computer's ACDSee software. I wasn't satisfied with this shot until I had over-processed it into the realm of the abstract!

Thoroughly Over Processed in Nix Silver Efex Pro 2

sadly, we are no longer in touch & I hate when rifts happen that cannot be repaired. It's the part of life that sucks & I wish it never happened...

The edit of course is all me. :)

From our garden - maybe over processed, but i like it :-P

Really over processed for me, but just having a bit of Monday afternoon fun :)

Meet IXO's interpretation of the Ferrari 288 GTO.

As usual, enjoy the over-processing along with some of my rambling!

IXO focuses on the budget model range and mostly 1/43s. This model is no exception. The shape seems a little off from some angles. And the chrome details could be nicer. The tailpipes are a particular letdown with their lack of depth and unsubtle chrome work.

I also wish the vents, especially on the bonnet and engine cover, were more defined. Admittedly, perforated sections would be asking a lot for an entry level model.

The interior is a treat however: nicely defined seats and console, with the daintiest gated shifted I've ever seen. Adorable!

What will always surprise me is how much better detailed on average these small models are compared to budget 1/18th scale models from years ago. (Bburago and Maisto I'm thinking of you <3).

For example, the window gaskets are painted proper black, and I get at least one closed side window on the passenger side.

Yes, one window is up; one is down. I'll live with this; the interior is easier to see that way!

Thanks for stopping by!

don't give me that look beotch.

more sweet sky action.

Over processed and blurry but it's the best milky way shot I've ever taken.

A submission to Sliders Sunday, where over-processing is encouraged. In fact, this leaf was so colourful that not much extra processing was required.

His name is actually Kalen, not marbles. But those eyes, though.

If you zoom in closely you can see on the underside of his irises, his shirt is reflected in his own eyes.

At first, I thought I might have over-processed something but after zooming in, I was gladly surprised.

He was a champion for his session. He only cried once and we got some really great shots.

For my first time shooting with a baby, it was definitely a win.

Pixel 7a Camera - disappointing to find that a shot has been over processed by your phones AI adding too many artefacts :(

I might have over processed these but I wanted to try to see what I could pull out of these backlit images.

I was testing the front-facing iPhone camera and realized that the only person in front of this camera is me. I don't know why I was surprised. The camera is really low resolution and is not meant for photos. I am not sure if I am going to use it for anything, really. Slightly accusing look is due to the general dislike of being photographed. Of course, in this case no one was forcing me, so I have no idea whom I am mad at. Also it is the morning after New Year's celebration and I need an aspirin!

Anyhow...I thought over-processed selfies of questionable quality are cliche enough...so are New Year resolutions!. HCS and Happy 2011, you guys!

One more is in the comments. Oh, and I saw Cliche Saturday Scavenger Hunt categories only after I took this shot. I think I'll add it to "out of your comfort zone" thread. Because selfies are definitely NOT my comfort zone.

My home office more like a corner office with a great view of the West End here in Vancouver.

From my chair I can see Stanley Park, Cypress Mountain, Grouse Mountain and parts of English Bay.

Today is a cloudy/raining/thundery day so I thought I would try and do a 3 exposure HDR of my setup.

Looks a bit over processed but my settings are the same as my other HDR photos I take. Guess the lighting plays a factor in HDR too.

3 Exposure processed/tone mapped in Photomatix. Light, Curves and Saturation adjusted in Photoshop. Resized to a max of 1024px wide.

M42, the Great Nebula in Orion. I took 15 1-minute lights with and without a dual narrow band filter and blended the stacked images in PS using screen. I'm not sure what screen does, but it seemed to bring out the surrounding nebulosity best. I then used a shareware called GraXpert to remove gradients. The image is over processed, but I had fun. The Trapezium blows out the central area of the nebula. I will try to use HDR techniques next time if I get a clear night before Orion fades into the west.

TMB 80mm f/6.3 refractor, Orion field flattener, ASI533MC, dual narrow band filter, 15 1-minute subs each with and without filter.

January 16, 2025; Backyard, Tallahassee, Florida. Bortle 7 sky. A night starting with clear skies but poor seeing. High cirrus moved in during imaging. Waning moon approximately 75% illuminated. Guiding total error was about 1.5 arcsec.

yes ... its too much over processed ...

Strone near Dunoon. Over processed in snapseed.
