The Huntley Outlet Mall closed last year in 2017. Many of the stores were long gone by early 2017. It once was home to about 40 stores. The mall was recently demolished
Had to get my car into the garage early this morning, and then walked home along the beach. Twas a dull weather morning, but still nice to be on the beach.

Today's story and sketch "by me" we are at Santa's North
Pole Outlet Shops, the Cosmicab you see is packed with
alien shoppers who will be looking for discounted toys and gifts
not available on their home planets.
Also on board are many aliens from colder moons who love
Ugly Santa sweaters, they will be staying at the Ugly
Sweater Inn and gift shop you see in the rear of this sketch.

Spend the past few days on vacation with my wife hoping for some skiing and snow shoeing but for the first time in many years we are missing the snow. We did hike though. This was the only day I backpacked my gear and got some nice shots. The wind was incredibly strong this day with a wind chill in the single digits. I love this shot of the outlet of Copperas Pond. The pond had about an inch or 2 of ice but it hasn't been cold enough to freeze the stream.

Clear Creek Second Outlet Channel and Gated Structure
Located near S.H. 146 just north of the Clear Lake natural outlet at Kemah/Seabrook, the Clear Creek second outlet channel was built to allow the discharge of watershed runoff from Clear Lake into Galveston Bay so lake levels are not increased due to a proposed upstream Clear Creek channel enlargement. Gates were included to reduce sediment inflow into the channel, lessen impacts of currents on navigation adjacent to the second outlet channel, and to prevent changes in tidal inflow and salinity intrusion through the second outlet from causing changes to the existing hydraulic and environmental conditions of Clear Lake.
The gates do not provide tidal or hurricane protection for lakeside or Clear Creek communities.

This on is take a few months ago. A few of us went to have a look at the bottom outlet which is behind/down stream of the Kárahnjúkar-dam. The power of the water coming out was unbelievable.

Fabiola Campos was killed in head-on collision on Outlet Drive near the Factory Merchants Mall in 1997.
She was Miss Barstow in 1991.
One of Fabiola friends said, "I remember her being so poised and elegant."
I haven’t seen this marker in many years.
A newspaper article from the time:
A Victorville woman who was Miss Barstow was killed Wednesday in head-on collision on Outlet Drive near the Factory Merchants Mall, a deputy coroner said.
Two other people were injured in the crash. Fabiola Campos, 23- year-old manager at the Ralph Lauren Polo store at the Factory Merchants Mall, was flown by California Highway Patrol helicopter to Victor Valley Community Hospital, were she was pronounced dead at ? hours after the accident, said Deputy Coroner Linda Myers.
Campos won the title of princess in the Miss County of San Bernardino contest in 1991 said Kris Watson of N e w b e r r y Springs, the Miss Barstow pageant director. "She was a very beautiful girl, just like family," Watson said.
The woman's southbound car collided head-on with a northbound vehicle that apparently crossed the center line. The names of the two injured people in the northbound ear were not available. Myers said both were taken to Barstow Community Hospital.
