Taking pictures of trains is a great outlet for one's desire to create, and for dispersing the worries of the world. Indeed if I haven't taken a decent picture in a while, I start to get antsy.
Fortunately the Train and Weather Gods have been generous in recent months even as other more malignant Gods plague the world with other maladies.
Today I even managed to drag Mr Wallace out of his house at some ungodly hour for a grand morning's trainchasing of 920 and 937... followed by a hearty steak, bacon and cheese pie and a coffee for a late lunch at Vanessa's in Hampden. Thank you, kind sir!
A longish train 937 crosses the tidal inlet of the Waikouaiti River, bringing DXB 5166 for a ride down to Dunedin for servicing.

The outlet glacier Fjallsjökull, originating from Vatnajökull, extends all the way to the lagoon’s surface, where large icebergs break away from the ice cap and fall into the water below.
With the many hundreds of icebergs that float atop the lagoon’s surface, Fjallsárlón is considered to be a strong second to the nearby, and more famous, Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon.
Though smaller than its neighbour, it is less known, thus less crowded with other visitors.
Like Jökulsárlón, Fjallsárlón is characterised by its unique and glittering icebergs. No iceberg is alike, with many hundreds of different shapes and sizes floating lazily atop the water. As these icebergs drift from place to place, they will often collide, exulting a loud groan as the ice rubs against itself.
Outlet Falls is located in a remote part of southern Washington. This falls isn't marked and doesn't see many visitors. My friend, David Cobb, had only seen a couple of images of it taken from above when some crazy kyakers ran it at high water. The scramble down the cliff to the creek bed isn't particularly user friendly but the deep canyon setting is a visual feast.
This vertorama is on the same baech a yesterdays upload. I heard there was a outlet here on this beach, this is why i was scouting here on monday. I'm going back in the next week to get a sunset shot from here. I'm going to get wet doing this one. lol
