A North American residential circuit breaker. This particular style, known as ganged, is used for 240-volt circuits to ensure both hot legs trip, otherwise there would be a live 120-volt circuit from either hot leg to neutral, an unsafe condition. Industrial buildings with three-phase power use three-breaker ganged units where required for similar reasons.

While the term “circuit breaker” mainly refers to the electrical safety device in its many varieties, the name has been used in other fields to suggest a overload shutoff mechanism, such as in the world of finance and even in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The unmistakable outline of Ben Arthur otherwise known as The Cobbler.

Possibly the most climbed "Corbett" (a Scottish mountain between 2500 and 3000ft) The Cobbler forms part of the Arrochar Alps in Scotland's southern highlands. This relatively easy climb has a little sting in the tail as it requires a little bit of bravery and additional caution to fully reach the true summit. The last few meters requires the climber to squeeze through a small fissure in the rock and scramble round the last pinnacle to gain access to the top. This last action is known as "Threading the needle" to most Scottish climbers and while relatively simple it does take a head for heights, good balance and an additional layer of caution.

First day of school at my new school.

Apparently if your hair is almost white and you carry around a Yoda on your back instead of a purse on your shoulder, people will stare. Add on the new kid status and old granny shoes and you don't stand a chance of going unnoticed.

So far, I hate my school. The people either stare or leer and no one but the teachers made me feel welcome. There was only one or two people I saw that I wanted to make my friend but otherwise I think I'll avoid the attachments.

Sarah's hair got in the way of this otherwise mundane photo.

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)

16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

In September 2015, I was scouting out and photographing numerous sites around Lake Tahoe, California and many sites in the Eastern Sierras for a short 5 days.

One the night of September 17, I took the Bonsai Rock Milky Way shot with the moon just above the distant mountain peaks.

The next day we moved down into the Eastern Sierras where I had been planning to photograph the iconic bristlecone pine tree with the Milky Way. Little did I know on the way down how well the moon would come into play with my night sky photography work there.

I used a long established technique to get the moon rays in this shoot while I light painted the bristlecone pine tree with my special light.

In 2017, I will have two 5 day Milky Way photography workshop in Arches National Park in Moab, Utah, one over the 3rd week in March and one over the 3rd week in April.

During each of the two workshops, I will conduct 3 4+ hour Milky Way Photoshop post processing session where I teach all the techniques I used to create this final photo but this time it will be more of what is called a "Deep Dive" PS post processing session and workshop participants will need a laptop with Photoshop CS 2017. Lightroom will work but lacks some functionality used in what I will teach.

My Milky Way night sky photography workshops

In 2017, I will be leading two 4 day photography workshops in Jackson Hole. During both workshops, I will take my group out for 3 nights of my Milky Way night sky workshop.

My 2017 4-5 day photography workshop schedule:

ANP, Canyonlands & Monument Valley - March 24-29

Icons of the Southwest w/Ryan Smith - April 23-28

Jackson Hole, Wyoming spring - June 21-25

Jackson Hole, Wyoming fall - September 19-23

The great part is that in 2017 I will return to Jackson Hole for the incredible wildflowers throughout the valley and the surrounding mountains.

Do you shoot the Milky Way but need a little help in getting the Milky Way to jump out of your photos ? If so, take a look at my ebook A Photographer's Milky Way Processing Guide - A Photoshop HowTo

March 2016 Arches National Park four night Milky Way night sky workshop is now full

In early March 2016, I will lead / host a four night Milky Way night sky workshop.

During that workshop I will take my group to Arches National Park, Professor Valley, Canyonlands, Monument Valley and down to Kayenta, AZ. After shooting the Milky Way, we'll shoot sunrise and many other sites in the best morning light.

I'm already thinking about that incredible drive from Moab, UT down to Monument Valley, AZ and on down to Kayenta. As we drive beyond The Mittens area in Monument Valley, we''ll see the ancient volcano Agathla Peak, just north of Kayenta.

i have been know to use tunnel vision as a coping skill when things weren't going so great....this can be a good thing, as i have been able to redirect my focus during times of tribulations and accomplish things that i was told i could never do...and then other times it henders me greatly....i have a tendency to not tell anyone i am struggling...i especially withhold from the one that is causing me the most strife....i begin to shut down and as the blinders go up, i forgo any and all reality in my peripheral vision.....i see only what i wanna see...but no one can convince me otherwise, for i am the queen of denial....

The one real disappointment from my otherwise fantastic photo trip to the Pacific Northwest 2.5 years ago was my navigational mishap regarding Proxy Falls. It has come to my attention that I went to the wrong Proxy Falls. I wanted (lower) Proxy Falls. I went to (upper) Proxy Falls. I find it terribly vexing that these matters only become clear years later when I'm ~1700 miles away...At least I got a decent consolation photo out of the deal...

Regardless, this place is a veritable moss factory. For those attempting to photograph Upper Proxy Falls, be warned, it is a slippery green moss deathtrap.

On September 28th, I will fly to Jackson Hole, Wyoming (USA) where I will conduct my last workshop of the year. I couldn't be happier than to be in GTNP for the fall colors as I have so many times in the past.

After I return home from this trip on October 6, I will fly to Northern Scotland on October 16th where I will meet up with one one Scotland's finest landscape photographer's, Jenny Cameron. Google her and check out her awesome photography.

Over the first four days there, we will travel to many places to document sites for the workshop we'll be conducting there over the 3rd week of October in 2020. And yes areas around the Isle of Skye will be included.

Once I return home, we'll then work on completing a multi-page informational workshop PDF to send anyone who's interested in attending this workshop. Following the PDF, we'll be posting video of the sites we'll take our group to and it will include some nice drone video as well.

Two days ago I made an early announcement of this workshop on Facebook and I already have 5 interested. So if you might be interested in this workshop, please send me a message and I'll add you to our advanced list and you'll also receive the workshop info PDF or if you're on Facebook please contact me via Messenger.

A dragon fly on a blackberry cane.

Per Wikipedia: “The common whitetail or long-tailed skimmer (Plathemis lydia) is a common dragonfly across much of North America, with a striking and unusual appearance. The male's chunky white body (about 5 cm long), combined with the brownish-black bands on its otherwise translucent wings, give it a checkered look. Females have a brown body and a different pattern of wing spots, closely resembling that of female Libellula pulchella, the twelve-spotted skimmer.”

Not quite sure which one this is, but getting close.
