This type of Parker pens is one of the finest (if not the finest) I've ever used. It never let me down in exams, project, or otherwise.
Anguloa orchid plants, otherwise known as tulip orchids or cradle orchids, are usually seen thriving in the forest floors of the high Andean regions of Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Peru. Given that their natural habitat is in the Andes Mountains, which has an elevation anywhere from 1800 to 2500 meters, the general assumption is that these orchids are expected to grow better in a cooler environment, compared to a hotter one. Anguloa orchids can be a bit hard to come by, depending on where you live. I have shot these rare orchids in San Francisco, CA .Conservatory of Flowers.
Visited my photo friend in Söderköping for two days.
We traveled around the country to photograph.
Near her home is this fairy tale castle, originally from the 16th century, but the current building is significantly younger.
The castle is called Ekenäs, and many strange words and myths are about it.
One of them is: Greve Mauritz Vellingk has got rid of secret actions and the boy who helped him was then wrapped in a secretarial basement not to come out and tell the secret. The renovated room, which has never been opened, is called "Nisses hole". It is said that if space opens, a major accident will hit both the castle and its owners.
Another is on the so-called Hönsagumman, which is said to have saved the castle from hostile attacks and therefore become portrayed, which otherwise was unusual for service people. She still keeps a watchful eye on everyone who enters the castle.

Our native bluebell, Hyacinthoides non-scripta, otherwise named common bluebells, English bluebells, British bluebells, wood bells, fairy flowers and wild hyacinth, is an early flowering plant that naturally occurs in the UK. It appears in ancient woodlands and along woodland edges in April and May. Millions of bulbs can exist in just one wood, giving rise to the violet-blue ‘carpets' that are such a springtime joy to walk through. This early flowering allows them to make the most of the sunlight that is still able to make it to the forest floor habitat, before the canopy becomes too thick. Native bluebells are protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.
The UK's woodlands are home to almost 50% of the world's population of the bluebell. But this much-loved plant is under threat. The Spanish bluebell is more vigorous than our native bluebell, so can outcompete it for resources like light and space. It can hybridise with our native, too, producing fertile plants that show a whole range of mixed features from both species. Over time, this hybridisation changes the genetic makeup of our native species, diluting its characteristics, weakening it and potentially evolving it into something else.
It is now thought that most bluebells in urban areas are actually hybrids. A study by Plantlife has also found that one in six broadleaved woodlands contained hybrids or the Spanish bluebell.

STILLNESS
A deep, abyssal silence followed the furious snowstorm that had struck down the river valley, the surrounding forest and our modest creaking cabin.
This sudden and strange silence calmed my mind, as if it had been under the influence of a Magician, an Enchantress. An absolute tranquility that imposed on me a moment of contemplation, improbable otherwise. In me, a feeling imposed itself more and more clearly: that of this unspeakable bond which unites us, us the living beings, with our planet, with our origins, with the Universe…
…in deep silence.

The two drug dealers who appear at the beginning of this video clip of Foo Fighters, trying to camouflage drugs on the plane, are Jack Black and Kyle Gass, two musicians who make up the rock group Tenacious D. This song will never be the best song of the rock history, even if the lyrics say so. Nor will they be remembered as one of the best rock bands. But something if they have both: they are two very funny guys. And his music videos and concerts, more. A good group. And "Tribute" a fun video clip.

PS: There is one thing I don't like about this photo... the use of pesticides. I prefer organic, ecological and sustainable crops. Pesticides kill insects. If the insects die, the birds have no food. And every day that passes, there are fewer birds... simply because there are no insects. The only species that is a plague on Earth... is humans.
PS: And as explained in ecology and ecosystems or the same words of the best ecologist, oceanographer and limnologist, Ramón Margalef... no plague can survive. Sooner or later... all the plagues, they finish and they are extinguished.

World Citizen - I Won't Be Disappointed (Long Version)
David Sylvian / Ryuichi Sakamoto - World Citizen (2003)
Happy summer.

A giant moth, the wingspan is 80-105 mm. When I saw it flying I first thought it was a small bird, it is that I saw where it landed on the pole, otherwise I would never have seen it because of the camouflage colors
You would think that with that long sharp bill, capable of splitting mussels with ease, that they would use their bills as weapons. However, they fight with their feet and not with that otherwise lethal beak. Limpkin skirmishes are almost always very brief and are more for show that actual combat. I have seen contact but, like in most cases, this one was all for show. I’d say it was over in one or two seconds. It’s difficult to say what they were fighting over, as there were many limpkins are food was in abundance. Possibly just guys getting on each other’s nerves. (Aramus guarauna) (Sony a1, 400mm f/2.8 at f/4, 1/3200 second, ISO 640)
These small plants have found a home among the decaying railroad ties, a perfect ecological niche.
EDIT
After posting, it occurred to me that this looks like an image to which selective color was applied. Actually, only a few spots on the wood beams were desaturated; otherwise, the colors are pretty much the way the way they appeared.

A resident shrike species - the most beautiful of the 3-4 we have here and a common bird in the countryside. They are easy to id and differentiated from their 2 other cousins by the thick brownish red coat on their backs. Size wise, they are also small and easy to distinguish visually.
Apart from the minor coloration difference, behaviour wise they are very similar the Long Tailed Shrike and Brown Shrike, though the Long tailed Shrike is the biggest of all.
The birds tend to sit on a small thorny bush like this and survey the area - often for 10-15 mins before they dive and get back to the same perch. Sometimes they eat the prey directly where possible, otherwise, the birds impale the prey onto the thorns and eat them.

Dipper - Cinclus Cinclus
aka Water Ouzel
Double Click to view
Dippers are members of the genus Cinclus in the bird family Cinclidae, named for their bobbing or dipping movements. They are unique among passerines for their ability to dive and swim underwater.
They have a characteristic bobbing motion when perched beside the water, giving them their name. While under water, they are covered by a thin, silvery film of air, due to small bubbles being trapped on the surface of the plumage.
Dippers are found in suitable freshwater habitats in the highlands of the Americas, Europe and Asia. In Africa they are only found in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. They inhabit the banks of fast-moving upland rivers with cold, clear waters, though, outside the breeding season, they may visit lake shores and sea coasts.
The high haemoglobin concentration in their blood gives them a capacity to store oxygen greater than that of other birds, allowing them to remain underwater for thirty seconds or more, whilst their basal metabolic rate is approximately one-third slower than typical terrestrial passerines of similar mass. One small population wintering at a hot spring in Suntar-Khayata Mountains of Siberia feeds underwater when air temperatures drop below −55 °C (−67 °F).
Dippers are completely dependent on fast-flowing rivers with clear water, accessible food and secure nest-sites. They may be threatened by anything that affects these needs such as water pollution, acidification and turbidity caused by erosion. River regulation through the creation of dams and reservoirs, as well as channelization, can degrade and destroy dipper habitat.
Dippers are also sometimes hunted or otherwise persecuted by humans for various reasons. The Cyprus race of the white-throated dipper is extinct. In the Atlas Mountains dippers are claimed to have aphrodisiacal properties. In parts of Scotland and Germany, until the beginning of the 20th century, bounties were paid for killing dippers because of a misguided perception that they were detrimental to fish stocks through predation on the eggs and fry of salmonids.

I like panoramas because they give you are real "wide-angle" view of an area that you can't otherwise obtain. It can give you more of a feel for what the surroundings are really like. But they're much better of course on a large screen.
This is a typical shot of Nahant which is a peninsula with some amazing rocky terrain. The island way out in the distance on the left is called "Egg Rock". There used to be a lighthouse there 100 years ago, but it fell into the ocean. Historically, people reported observing "sea snakes" in this area around Nahant. I didn't see any :)

The web-footed Namib dune gecko (Pachydactylus rangei or otherwise known as the palmato gecko).
Its main food supply consists of fish moths, spiders and dune crickets, which are all active at night. The gecko gets protein as well as moisture from its food source.
It is also able to lick the water that has condensed on its body due the thick fog that settles on the Namib and before sunrise the gecko will dig into the dune sand or gravel to ride out the heat of the day with sand temperatures sometimes exceeding 70 ̊C!

UK folklore dictates that blackberries should not be picked after Old Michaelmas Day in October, as the Devil has sullied them. Brambles used to be planted on graves to stop sheep grazing, but might also have had the more superstitious purpose of keeping the dead in.

From a lookout around the UBC area, we parked to peer down on the ocean below. A serene moment, the stanchions made an interesting pattern as they interrupted an otherwise motionless ocean. A good time to catch a few colors as well as they reflected on the surface beneath the clouds.
Otherwise known as "Pheasant Tailed Jacana" - this is a beautiful bird commonly found near marshy ponds and lakes. The bird's nickname is "Jesus Bird" because of its ability to walk to water or lotus leaves.
Ebird shows this plumage as the breeding plumage. I am not sure what is the regular plumage since I have always seen it during or at the start of the breeding season. The birds are not sexually dimorphic, but the female is a tad bigger than the male.
There was a turf war brewing between the Bronze-Winged Jacana's and these birds. The Bronze-wings kept chasing these off maybe because these are migratory (within the country) while the Bronze-Wings are not.
Many thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
Throughout the week we were at Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge, we observed this mated pair hunting. Their favorite lookout seemed to be this one pole. Their success as hunters could be seen by the bones, feathers and fur lying at the foot of their perch, that is, whatever the scavenging crows and gulls did not carry away.
Numerous poles have been erected to give eagles and other raptors vantage points in an otherwise nearly treeless expanse.
