After spending far too much time sifting through larger bins looking for the right hair piece/facial expression/hat, I decided to subdivide the minifig parts into smaller compartments. I've done the same with the minifig tools/utensils, small foliage, animals, etc. (Clear storage containers obtained at a crafting store in the beads section).

Front wall of the office (the back wall has the door and a closet, used for storage of luggage, Halloween costumes, and other infrequently used items). The double cabinet looking thing is actually two narrow cabinets from IKEA (surprisingly roomy) stood side by side. In the left I keep all my music stuff (violins, effects pedals, sheet music, etc.). In the right I have my digital camera and accessories, video camera and accessories, and all my various laptop computers.
The horizontal piles help me with things that need to be done in the mid-term, but for the things I am currently working on (usually simultaneously), I use two methods:
For meetings and work sessions I have TODAY, I put associated documents on the cube wall, so I can easily take them on my way to the wherever the gathering place is.
For documentation I'm reviewing, reading or working on, I spread over my desk next to my computer. After they are done, they are either archived or recycled. If they are delayed, they go back to the main pile (see horizontal pile image). Nothing is allowed to linger on for more than a day.

Been saving these boxes, perfect size for magazines and fit nicely into the bookcase. A little nudge from Shelly's blog prairiemoonquilts.com/?p=3512 was all it took to get me into this task which I've been putting off. Later I'll bind the edges w/ colored tape and make them look pretty. Thanks, Shelly, for the motivation!

Led by Chicagoland indigenous organizations, people assembled at Federal Plaza to hear speeches and create a community snake dance against the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). They were joined by a marchers from an anti-Trump protest. The DAPL is often called the "Black Snake”.
The pipeline will run across approximately 1,172 miles of land from North Dakota to Illinois. The DAPL will transfer crude oil, through the Oglala Aquifer, as well as, under the Big Sioux, Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. The pipeline will run through the traditional lands of the Standing Rock Sioux endangering water and sacred sites.
Energy Transfer Partners has 100% completion of the Dakota Access Pipeline in Illinois, and South Dakota. Resistance in North Dakota and Iowa are our last lines of defense against DAPL.
