About 10km west of Monterrey, La Huasteca is studded dramatically with 300m-tall rock formations and gorgeous desert landscapes. Despite being designated as a park, La Huasteca in Mexico does not receive the protection it needs. The landscape is often marred by trash and graffiti. By raising awareness about this issue, I hope to encourage local officials to implement stronger environmental protections before it's too late. Thanks @marcadamus for showing us these amazing locations!

I'm not so sure about the new Greedo.. I'm so used to looking at the blue one that the greener one almost looks wrong... I guess it's pretty good, but I kinda like the original a bit better.

EXPLORE #117 we have paid off the house!
Now we need to save up for a new car.... our old 97 Mitsubishi mirage is running so rough. Hoping it will hold on until spring. I think if we are frugal enough, we can save enough for a car by then.
Also we need to save for retirement. Being old is expensive. A Large portion of people that we help at the food bank are retirement age folks.

Arrived at Blashford lakes Tern hide to be greeted by this lovely bird. Went for a 2hr guided walk with the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust to try and see/hear 50 bird species. We managed 46.
Fatima Masumeh Shrine, Qom, Iran.
Like the Masjid Imam Ridha in Mashhad, the Shrine of Fatimah Al-Masumeh in Qom is revered as one of the two most important Shi’ite cities inside Iran, and the two are closely related in more ways then one. The shrine is home to the Tomb of Fatimah, the daughter of Musa the 7th Imam and the sister of Ali the 8th Imam who is buried in Mashhad. She was therefore also a direct descendent of the Prophet Muhammad, and is honored among Shi’ites. More generally, the Tomb of Fatimah is possibly the most venerated holy place in Islam dedicated to a woman, with the exception only of the Tomb of Hagar in Mecca. Although not considered quite as sacred as Mashhad, Qom is nevertheless Iran’s most important religious center, and is home some of its most important schools as well as many of the highest-ranking Shi’ite officials.

Customs officials stopped the import of 30 pirated polyester copies of a vase from the Blue Lotus Tintin album, made in the Philippines without the authorization of the copyright owner of Hergé items.
Not technically a great picture, but I did want to document an interesting museum walk we had: After we had met on the pier in Santa Bárbara without realizing it, eight years ago, and had visited a few of the same places, but at different times, we agreed to meet at the renovated railroad station in Antwerp, and from there we made a beeline to the 5-year old museum on the Scheldt River, where I saw Leuntje and her camera in action.
We completed the rendez-vous with a memorable meal...😆
