This shot was taken at Seagrove Beach, Fl, in September, when the oats actually bloom or whatever it is they are doing!
I keep thinking I need to pack a bucket of oats when I go on my adventures. I know that there is a horse & a mule in this pasture most of the time. When I first stopped neither was close to the house. Finally the mule com where I wanted it to be. I should have some oats for a chum & a reward.

This was taken in northeast Iowa, and it is unusual because the farmer planted oats (not a usual Iowa crop) in the waterways between the cornfields. I thought it made an interesting pattern even though I'm not comfortable yet taking landscape photos.

A different view of this Claas Lexion combine. 70-200mm F4.0IS at F4.0 to give a different perspective and look to the photo. Farmers will be hoping for weather like this to return so that they can get on with the wheat harvest.

Over and beyond the distant horizon, the sun is illuminating the sky with the golden glow of sunset as sea oats (Uniola Paniculata) gently sway in the coastal winds, basking in the shadow of the ever-vigilant Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on the evening of June 24, 2022, in Buxton, NC.

It was quite windy so I decided to go for a slow exposure to get the movement of the barley in the field (paddock, for my wife). I was intrigued with the different tones.
A field of Oats, poppies and wild oats. Farmers used to employ people to pull the wild oats, I don't think there would be much left if it was done in this field.
Sea Oats (Uniola paniculata) not only symbolize the dune plant community in the Southeastern United States, they also help hold it together. Their roots and growth form play an important role in dune formation and stabilization.
In this image, you can see the fortune in the background that provides the true barrier between the ocean and the land on this barrier island.
