Lately I got a phone call and someone asked me if I would like to create a stuffed animal based on a painting of Paul Klee. This stuffed animal would be presented and sold due to a very special exhibition in the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin: "Cult of the Artist: The Klee Universe". It's a huge and unique retrospective of Klee's work.
Of course it's not only a huge honor to create a stuffed animal based on a work of Paul Klee - it's also a very interesting and challenging project. So I presented three different prototypes to the company which had contacted me - and I was really happy that they chose the prototype which I liked most too.
It was a lot of work and very few time left until the huge vernissage and the start of the exhibition - but I really managed to finish the first of the Klee monsters in time and most of them were sold already during the vernissage. Some decoration professionals presented the monsters in an amazing way - but unfortunately we didn't have time to take photos. But we will do that next time. Because now I have to create many, many more monsters.
Each creature is an original and absolutely unique - and every animal has a number that puts it into the line of this limited edition of Klee monsters.

De dubbele torens met blauw daken huisvesten ministerie VWS (Castalia, bijgenaamd de Haagse Tieten), direct hiernaast de Zurich toren, met onder andere kantoren van de OPTA en NMA).

Ansichtkaart met de Pompstraat in Gorinchem rond 1905. Aan het eind van de gracht is een oud koetshuis te zien, daar was de laatste kuiperij van Gorinchem gevestigd (gebr. van Dort).
