One of the strangest sponsorship acknowledgments I've seen.

My twist on the Project 365, this time tracking down the actual numbers to mark the days.
What’s allowed: numbers depicted by figures, ordinals (first, second, 13th etc), roman numerals, words. Photos can be taken at any time, but must have been taken especially for this project.
Restrictions: numbers must be “found” or “natural”, so writing a missing number on a piece of paper and photographing it is not allowed. Times on digital clocks etc may be included, but must have been taken at the actual time (so no setting the time forward or back for convenience).
Added restrictions: pictures must be taken with a 50mm lens, plus use of an extension tube for macro shots. Minimal cropping/enhancement.

It is very comprehensive, the Hong Kong Police Force has a highly organised structure.
All Hong Kong Police Vehicles use the AM licence plate ie 2 digits and up to 4 numbers | Police vehicles have different colours, normal Police vehicles are white with red and blue stripes, the Police Traffic Division vehicles are white with yellow and blue checkerboard design.
Amazingly the Police Force have their own superstitions as well, the majority of the licence plates on Police Vehicles have lucky number combinations involving the numbers 6,8, and 9 ! Basically 6 means easy life, 8 means wealth and 9 means long life - this is very much Hong Kong Culture. The Police also use unmarked vehicles extensively which are NOT identified by the AM mark.

I wanted to post the photo below as they are the numbers that everyone wants, but alas I twas out numbered by my fan club.
These were stamped into the firewall, but on the passenger side! The leading number is easier to read from inside the car and it was done upside down [now has some kind of scarring in the metal]. We think that perhaps to make it match the 11B tag, someone pounded in these numbers and ground off the numbers which are supposed to be on the other side of the firewall--haven't found any there yet and i'm down to bare metal.
The Lidl Run Kildare Events 2013 were held at the Curragh Racecourse, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 12th May 2013. There were three events: a 10KM, a half marathon, and a full marathon. This is a selection of photographs which includes all events. The photographs are taken from the start and finish of the marathon, the finish of the 10KM, and the finish of the half marathon. Due to the large numbers participating we did not manage to photograph everyone - which was not helped by the weather. Congratulations to Jo Cawley and her RunKildare crew for another great event. The weather didn't dampen the spirits of the many happy participants.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 3,000 participants over the 3 race events - there were runners, joggers, and walkers participating.
Weather: A cold breezy morning with heavy rain at the start. The weather dried up for the 10KM and the Half Marathon races
Course: This is an undulating course with some good flat stretches on the Curragh.

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not know of any other photographers who operate such a policy. I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

This is a detail lino block print of Countess, Lady Ada Lovelace (1815-1852), who published the first computer program.* She worked together with Charles Babbage, the inventor of the Difference Engine and the Analytical Engine (the first - analogue! - computers), correcting his notes on how to calculate Bernoulli Numbers with the Analytical Engine. More importantly, she (a great communicator, daughter of mad, bad and dangerous to know Lord Byron) was able to understand and explain the workings of the analytical engine and the potential of computing machines. Her comments seem visionary to the modern reader. Babbage called her the Enchantress of Numbers and the Princess of Parallelograms.
The print is in gold, purple and turquoise water-based block printing ink on mauve Japanese gampi paper 15.25 inches x 10.5 inches.

This was the best location to signal back and forth with inmates of Alcatraz. Lenny "Long Shot" Gabortz kept his numbers racket thriving by using one of his guys on the outside. The actual mode of signaling was never discovered.

One can only speculate how many future fear-factors reside within this cluster of newborn spiders.
This video was shot in the field with an extended macro bellows at 3200 ISO, so the quality is a bit crappy.
It might be interesting to learn how many of these little guys and gals actually make it to adulthood and get big enough to scare Li'l Miss Muffet out of her britches.
...I guess we'll never know.
