OK, Flickr friends, so by now you know I'm crazy, and take INSANE numbers of pictures when we go on vacation. I show great reserve most of the rest of the year, and only upload one or two pictures at a time. But now the secret is out, the woman goes nuts when she goes on vacation. Probably only family are still hanging in at this point, and even they are shaking their heads at the sheer numbers. Oh well. We all have our vices.
For those out there who love rock formations, this particular upload may be of somewhat more interest. For you hardy souls, the pictures in the set itself are arranged in the order they were taken, which means you can bring up the set, put it on slide show and full screen, and descend the canyon with us, then join me in a relatively short and very calm, but still beautiful, raft ride down the river. Lots of lovely rock formations and such, quite impressive for those who like such things.
For the rest of you, within a couple of weeks I'll actually have the last of these vacation pics uploaded, and then I'll go back to my more usual fare, my altered images and such, and will go back to my usual practice of one or two uploads every few days! Promise. Cross my heart!

The Lidl Run Kildare Events 2013 were held at the Curragh Racecourse, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 12th May 2013. There were three events: a 10KM, a half marathon, and a full marathon. This is a selection of photographs which includes all events. The photographs are taken from the start and finish of the marathon, the finish of the 10KM, and the finish of the half marathon. Due to the large numbers participating we did not manage to photograph everyone - which was not helped by the weather. Congratulations to Jo Cawley and her RunKildare crew for another great event. The weather didn't dampen the spirits of the many happy participants.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 3,000 participants over the 3 race events - there were runners, joggers, and walkers participating.
Weather: A cold breezy morning with heavy rain at the start. The weather dried up for the 10KM and the Half Marathon races
Course: This is an undulating course with some good flat stretches on the Curragh.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. This is a photograph from the finish of the 36th Michael Manning Memorial "Dunshaughlin 10KM" Road Race and Fun Run which took place in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, Ireland on Saturday 20th June 2015 at 19:30. This race is widely acknowledged within the Irish running community as one of the best races in Ireland. While being very well attended and competitive it is also one of the oldest 10KM races in Ireland. The numbers for this race have exceeded expectations year on year for the past number of years. In 2008 a record field of 306 took to the start line but by 2012 this number had more than doubled with 647 runners taking part. The starting numbers in 2013 topped this again at 668. Last year, 2014, the numbers rocketed to a new record of 883. This year 862 finished the race showing that the race continues to attract very substantial crowds. This year, as in previous years, the race attracted runners from not just all of Leinster but from the four corners of Ireland. Who knows but this race could reach 1,000 entrants next year? The work of the organising committee must be commended on making this event possible. The Dunshaughlin 10KM has earned it's place at the top of the pedestal of Irish running through the sheer hard work of Dunshaughlin AC over the years. Road race events do not survive on their own. There must be dedication, hard work and a development vision amongst the committee and the host club. Well done to all.

Rational Numbers as Decimals The rational numbers are fractions, whole numbers and decimals .The rational numbers can be written as a ratio in the form m/n where m and n are integers and n is not equal to zero. Irrational numbers are Pi, square roots and logarithms of numbers. A rational number is contrasted with these irrational numbers. Simply Irrational numbers is states that the numbers which cannot be expressed in fraction. The examples of rational numbers are 0.9,13/4,52/100. Clearly all fractions are of that form. The decimal numbers can easily be written in that form: for example 0.66 is 66/100, 2.40938 = 24098/100000 etc. The rational numbers have a terminating repeating decimal expansion but in the case of irrational numbers it is not possible. The Kraus Campo - a garden on the Carnegie Mellon University Campus.
At the heart of the garden sits the campo, a 25 by 60 by 3-foot, tile-covered sculptural platform based on the shape of a French curve, a tool common to artists, architects and engineers alike. Black numbers imbedded in white tiles that cover the platform are indicative of the numerical sequencing patterns of Bochner’s art.
I used to believe Friday the 13th as a bad day and bad date, but 13th of June with number 33 is worse. Hmmm,,, just ask me why?
