If you need me, I'll be hiding in my closet in the fetal position, and sobbing.

Dear Santa,

How do reindeer fly? How do you get in a house without a chimny? I hope you give all the children their toys.

With best luck and wishes for Christmas Eve, Alex.

PS I miss you.

PPS Thank you.

I put this shot together for my wife's guitar she had custom made by Chris Williams. 85mm lens at f1.8 with a hand cut music note stencil placed over it to create shaped bokeh with Christmas lights background. Guitar was painted with a flashlight for 5 seconds during an intentional overexposed 25sec for added background color.

This handwritten service log dates to the 1960s and contains the handwritten signatures of engineers who were maintaining the brewery's lift machinery several decades ago.

Note: This is not my collection, but rather a user named 'Shawn' who used to have a Flickr account by the user name 'accurate cobweb'. Sadly he was only active for a while before he deleted his account. Luckily, I had saved all his images!

Note the step - the sheet metal dropouts on this old Gillott are much narrower than the derailleur hanger body. I'll build this back up with some stainless sheet metal, and cut and file it to match the curvature of this elegant dropout

The Irish (or Scottish) Wooden Flute differs from the Western Concert Flute in not only being made of wood rather than metal, but also in adopting a simpler key system.

Wooden Flutes are assigned the number 421.121.12 in the Hornbostel-Sachs classification of musical instruments ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hornbostel-Sachs ), indicating:

4 = Aerophones. Sound is primarily produced by vibrating air. The instrument itself does not vibrate, and there are no vibrating strings or membranes.

42 = Non-Free Aerophones. The vibrating air is contained within the instrument.

421 = Edge-Blown Flutes. A narrow stream of air is directed against an edge.

421.1 = Flutes without a Duct. The player makes a ribbon-shaped flow of air with his lips.

421.12 = Side-Blown Flutes. The player blows against the sharp rim of a hole in the side of the tube.

421.121 = Single Side-Blown Flutes.

421.121.1 = Open Side-Blown Flutes.

421.121.12 = With Fingerholes.

My Death Note came without shoes. I contacted another DN owner here and her doll was without shoes also.

Dominatrix garb with a weird doll.... I guess I find the combination strange not the doll itself.

Things of beauty.

I often forget the small things that inspire me. One of them is old currency. I have a small collection. These are pre Bolshevik revolution Rubles. The further back you go in time, you can literally see why we call these things "bank notes". They literally used to be these huge notes from a bank saying "yeah, we agree to pay blah blah X amount".

The artistry and style that goes into these things is amazing. And even better, you can pick up these little bits of history really quite cheaply from a bunch of places.

After graduating I've been number each of my note/sketch books. I'm on the ninth book and because it's my favorite number I made it special.
