We don't usually decorate until a week or two before Christmas, but, with all the isolation and all around crummy atmosphere of the last many years, we went all out and very early this year. We needed the spirit lifting powers of Christmas. Merry, merry! :)
Stopped at my favorite playground on my way home from the dentist to snap a few shots. Of course, by then it was so bright outside that the contrast between sunny and shade was intense. That's why I decided to just go with it, and embrace the high contrast... :)
For a public building, this stair in a parking garage in downtown Baton Rouge seemed to have a very sharply angled and unsafe design!!!!
At f/11, I was really hoping this would have come out with crisper detail. Not sure if it was me (handheld), the wind, or what, but not so much for the detail. I still like it, though. Just don't look too close... ;)

Lake Oeschinen above Kandersteg is considered the most beautiful lake in Switzerland. The panorama of 20 images was taken in the winter of 2024. Have a wonderful time!

I'd never been to this guy's house before, but got invited because of my friends' band playing at the party. This guy was a master host and a grand fellow, who was REALLY into Christmas, music, and fun!
Merry Christmas, all!!!
The old wooden barns of Oregon are fast disappearing. I've collected several over the years through my camera and periodically get enticed to remember them through imagery.
...from the top, down. Since I was shooting with the 14mm (for a change of pace), I would like to have gotten closer, but this was as close as I could get.

A curiosity: the sunglasses, once especially made to be used in the desert, are made of the same celluloid material as the analogic camera films.

This is just using body parts versus posing as a human figure but I view self-portraits as a challenge and question; does adding a figure add or detract from the composition?
Self-portraits are an artistic and internal process that can be explored in earnest.
Even though I've shot more Coneflowers than you can shake a stick at, I still find it hard not to stop and photograph them...^+^
Very rarely will I stage a shot, but, when I do I inevitably stage it wrong... }=P
It was too wet to get out in the yard, so I plucked this perfect little Dandelion and brought it under the cover of my carport for some staged shots. While looking for something to use for a background, I came across the box that one of my cameras came in and thought that might make a cool shot. Too bad the box is white...the Dandy just disappears into the whiteness. If I had only moved it a little more in front of the photo of the camera body, it would have shown up much better! I would go out and re-do it, but I'm just basically too lazy for that crap... ;)
Had to go back a couple of months to find something for SlidersSunday, but I think this qualifies.
Happy SlidersSunday, ya'll... :)
We've had rain every day for weeks now, and it's really getting old. The forecast for the next 10 days? 50% or higher chance of rain every...single...day.
This is our neighbor's kitty, who Becky has decided to name George since he lives more at our house than theirs. He has become Stella's playmate, Since Lucy, our older outside kitty, has a stick up her butt and won't play nice.
I have always seen this image in two different ways - when I first saw the space, it was a lovely, warm hearth, full of a quiet beauty that spoke of home and comfort. But on the computer screen, I see an angry face, consuming the bright fire. I’ve not really processed it much, other than swirling the edges and layering transparent color. An enigma.
