I may be absent Flickr for a while. My hard drive is dying, so I have to learn how to switch over to a new one before I lose a bunch of stuff. I guess it shouldn't take that long, but me and electronics don't really get along that well.

Wish me luck, and I'll see you guys in a while...

the things we write down to keep from going mad, just sitting there in the dark, getting covered in dust while the sun burns the concrete outside.

Just remembering a warmer day than today... :)

The pride and craftmanship in this old buggy still shines through, even though it's been allowed to deteriorate so badly. From what I understand, the owner at the Laurel Valley Plantation just doesn't have the time and money that it would take to really maintain all the stuff that is displayed on the plantation. It's a shame, but I'd almost rather see everything in this condition...it's just real.

Time to start digging out the Holly bushes again, and there's the shovel...right where I left it... {=P

This was on a huge vining plant with lots of blooms and thick leaves.

A couple more from the back yard.

Sometimes you look up at just the right moment from just the right spot.

I didn't take many shots last year, but I have a few that I need to upload, so bear with me. Most are just random nature shots that I want to keep a record of.

It's been brining since 5 pm yesterday and will now air dry in the spare fridge till around 8 am. Then it's into the smoker for about 4 hrs!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Some random shots taken at the Po-Boy Festival in New Orleans a few years back. Yeah, I'm perusing the archives, because I've been too lazy to get out in the rain and cold, lately. Hey, I'm old.

Probably the most photographed gazebo in Baton Rouge, because of it's location at the LSU University Lakes. I sometimes wonder if it actually sees any use...

I REALLY shouldn’t do #inktober because works to finish, but my mind said “DO EEET!”… so here we are. I decided to do 4 big ink drawings per week AND I’M ALREADY LATE, HELP. Who knows if i’ll be able to to all of them? Also no prompts because i cba orz.

And my avatar deserved a nicer drawing anyway, so i chose her as my first inktober subject. \o

I dunno if i'll post my next inktobers on flickr since they will be not SL-related (but i can if you're interested), so i'll leave you my other art-related social if you want to see them!

Alt: A headshot of a model standing in front of a dark blue backdrop. Her head is adorned with a blue cowboy hat and near the bottom of the photo we she blue dress straps and white cotton bodice. The model's pale blonde hair is long and braided into a long ponytail draped over her left shoulder. Her eyes are a vibrant blue, while her eyeshadow resembles white streaks of lightning on top of dark blue skies, and her lips are soft and pink.

a texture you can almost feel against the roof of your mouth

I believe, hell is where there is a flaw (i.e. a section) a space through which evil can enter. Therefore, between the interstitial fences

(or cage spaces)💡, I added more material, didn't let them empty to not let it in ;-) With a 'dissection', I try to fill the empty spaces.

For this Abstract, I applied my personally conceived Light Painting by Candlelight technique, photographing some Camelia flowers underwater in darkness, painting them with the light of a candle and, from 4 different shots, I made my creativity fly.

I used several multiple long exposures, then I begun to digitally paint, trying to obtain some interesting bas-relief+3D effects.

In the end, I could not choose, so I decided to make an even more engaging Abstract work by using portions of all my 4 works.

I don't very much like the colour red, but this was the main colour due to the Camelias of a fire red!

Profondo Rosso, the famous movie by Dario Argento, the Inferno of the magistral Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri...

This is Inferno Four, enjoy the hot mood 😉

💡Big thanks to my new Friend T.rubblemaker, he he, who helped me focus and nail my Concept with his kind critique:

"Interference patterns of lava flow and fire, trapped behind, or maybe protected by the bars of a cage. Melting gold bullion

and cool gray stone are the highlights".

Be confident hell is very icy cold, at least for how I imagine it, so, this Inferno is maybe a limbo ? :-)

In case you're looking for some good post-editing software at an excellent price, check out Google's 'NIK Collection'. Years ago, when it was first introduced, this software cost around $500. After Google bought it, they lowered the price to the $150 range. They're now giving it away for FREE, and it includes the whole collection including Silver Effects Pro. Don't pass this up...just google 'nik collection and get yours... :)

In the Palais Garnier, Paris.

I was shooting the plant and didn't notice the Cane Fly, hiding in plain sight, until I was processing. This is severely cropped!

With the morning light on the desert, purple mountains, and a rich blue sky, these desert plants really stood out... :)

On the Rhone River, Arles.

Btw: ‘Ei’ is the german word for egg. It is pronounced like the english word ‘I’. Sometimes my sense of humour is just... uhmmm... bad enough. ;)

I tried a little tonemapping with this single image from back in February, using the Photomatix program. It seems to work really well with some shots, while others, not so much. You really have to be careful about introducing too much noise in some images.

All that said, I liked the added richness it gave this shot... :)

I photographed this flying goose, just before it had landed on the water. I took the photo when I was watching ducks and geese on an autumn morning.

I didn't really see any Dandelions growing in my yard this year, so, when I found some at work and just happened to have the 50mm macro lens already mounted, I just had to grab a few shots... :)

disclaimer: it was actually sunny and warm...

It seems that the closer you peer into the Azalea bushes, the more you see...
