Vacation photos from 2016 trip to Zion National Park.
Sorry for the massive upload, but I'm posting all these photos that I never posted back in the day, so that I can complete my Roadtrip to Zion album. :)
On our last day there, we were blessed by a rainbow over the desert.
Ernie, as pets do, has picked up several nicknames. Among these are Lord Pouncemore (a nod to his out-of-touch elitism) and Le Grand Orange (an homage the late baseball star and restauranteur, Rusty Staub). One that came naturally was “Big Fluffy.” We noticed that whenever Big Fluffy would boldly escape the house (he’s an indoor cat), his bravado would quickly turn to bafflement, then terror, and he would dash back inside – earning him the additional moniker “Big Fluffy Chicken.”
We rarely see rabbits in the garden, but when one seemed properly protected by the Rabbit Sculpture, I couldn't resist.
“Baton Rouge woke up Tuesday to the unthinkable: snow falling for the first time in seven years and temperatures in the 20s.
At least 6 inches was reported throughout most parts of East Baton Rouge, Prairieville and Denham Springs, according to the National Weather Service. Areas of Geismar and southwestern Baton Rouge had as much as 8 inches by early Tuesday evening when the snow finally tapered, the weather service said.
It's likely to be the second-biggest snowfall in Baton Rouge history, eclipsing the 6-inch snowfall in January 1940. The all-time record is 12.5 inches, which crushed the city in February 1895.”

Not that I did, or ever have. As a matter of fact, it wasn't quiet at all. There is a highway on the other side of the treeline with morning commuters and semi rigs barreling through. Such is modern life...I'm such a liar...
