Many elections have been billed as the most consequential of a lifetime, but this is the most consequential vote of my 75 years on this planet, by far.
I voted for Democracy.

Usually seen on Live Oak trees, this Resurrection Fern seems to be happy growing on this Pecan Tree. Zoom in and take a look.
Well, it's back to work for me this week...(=p The upside is that perhaps I'll get some new photo-ops...^+^
Have a great Monday, everyone!!!
There's something about the brackish swamp water that stains the leaves of this Tallow Tree that hangs over the water.
The nice thing about caterpillars is that they move so slow you can actually get a decent shot of them....^+^
It sort of looks like little 'duck pictures' on his side, eh?
I've been suffering from Plantar Fasciitis for a couple of months and haven't been able to hit my trails. I stopped by one of my favorite ones the other day and took this quick shot of the start of the trail.
The foot is getting better and I look forward to doing some exploring!
I've been taking so many macros lately because I haven't had time to go out and shoot anything else! Most everything I post this weekend will be shots I took in my yard in the evenings. I'm gonna try to get around to see as many of you as possible...please don't be pissed if I miss you....{=P
Built from 1847 to 1852, Louisiana’s Old State Capitol is a Gothic, castle-like statehouse located in the downtown of Baton Rouge near the Mississippi River. It now operates as the Museum of Political History.
I've been down with a head cold the last few days...this is what the inside of my nose has been feeling like...*+^
This is actually a tiny patch of ground moss in the morning sun.
The way I see it… we can do whatever we want.
Venom might not be the best Marvel move ever (let’s be honest, there’s worst), but i liked it a lot! And i laughed till the end. We deserve a tv show with Eddie and Venom bitching like an old couple.
And to the ones that say it’s the best romantic comedy of the year… aren’t ya all right. XDDDD
(And as usual i’m late with my weekly Inktober, i’m hopeless.)
Done in black ecoline, black pens in various sizes and white Molotow pen.

It is almost a crime to show one of these in black and white, but I did it anyway. Using a green filter turns the bright red colour into a nice rich black.
"Watching my wife in her element, whether she's quietly observing a deer in the woods or excitedly pointing out a new butterfly species, is always a joy. Her dedication to understanding and appreciating wildlife is truly remarkable. It's more than just a hobby for her; it's a deep-seated love and respect for the natural world."
A quick stilhouette as the standard LP shot, I have to thank Tim Gamble and Chris Thompson for inspiring me to try backlit silhouettes about 15 years ago, and even more thanks to Phill for nearly always being the backlit gimp!! 31/05/2025
The gutted bottom floor of this building in downtown Baton Rouge has been stagnating for years now. They put up fencing in the door and window openings...I guess to keep out the homeless...and photographers.
...from the top, down. Since I was shooting with the 14mm (for a change of pace), I would like to have gotten closer, but this was as close as I could get.
