I simply MUST remember to get some OFF skeeter spray!!
btw...I wanted a shot of the river itself, but it's Summer and the thick growth of vines and prickly things blocked my way.
Have a great week!

There is a street in the middle of Zachary, Louisiana that's behind the local police station, off of main street. It's the historic part of town. It's not a very long street. It's really pretty when it snows.
I've stopped at this spot down the road from me to shoot for a few years now. I used to be able to see where a house once stood on this property and there are flowering shrubs that are now growing wild.
A couple of years back, it had a for sale sign up, but it didn't stay up for long. Now I'm noticing signs that someone is keeping it bushhogged and have removed the old pillars and steps that showed where a house once stood.
I fear that some day soon I will go to shoot the pond and there will be signs of new construction and, perhaps, barriers to access.
That will be a sad day for me.
No one had yet cracked Barbaro's secret, even though her first name provided an important clue.

I'm surprized that I don't have more pics of Lucy climbing trees...she loves it!!! I've noticed that the squirrels have moved a little farther away from the house!!! ....^+^
HFF!!!!!!!
What this photo doesn't show is all the danged 'skeeters' flying around and in and out of my ears... ;)
The trails are green again and the temps are comfortable, but makes sure you don't forget the skeeter repellent!!!
You'd think there would be barns galore in Louisiana, and I'm sure there are quite a few, but few in my area that are accessible to photograph. I've had shoots here a couple of times before and decided it was time to revisit on this lovely day.
On this trip, I took along the 14mm super-wide to get a different take on things. This is the first shot, taken from the road as I approached.
Many elections have been billed as the most consequential of a lifetime, but this is the most consequential vote of my 75 years on this planet, by far.
I voted for Democracy.
Usually seen on Live Oak trees, this Resurrection Fern seems to be happy growing on this Pecan Tree. Zoom in and take a look.
I needed this for a recipe, but I was blown away at how much it cost. Lucky for me, it was on sale at a measly $18 for this pint. I shudder to think what a fifth of it would cost!
The nice thing about caterpillars is that they move so slow you can actually get a decent shot of them....^+^
It sort of looks like little 'duck pictures' on his side, eh?
