A very happy red rose just after sunset last night, the soft blue hour complemented the redness of the flower.

On my way to catch some shots of some dried up lake-beds this morning, and this happened.

I just had to post this missed opportunity from a visit to Houmas House Plantation this summer of 2017. I really should have walked back out to the parking lot and got my tripod, or at least shot this at a much higher iso. But it was sooooo hot outside... :(

It was a privilege to start this year in photography with my buddy Gaylon Keeling ( www.flickr.com/photos/gaylon/ ). The weather forecast for the first days of January in our little corner of the world called for rain at first, but the forecast steadily improved, and January 2nd turned out to be a great day to go hiking and take photos in the Frenchtown Road Conservation Area. Thanks, Gaylon, for introducing me to another great local natural area!
