Trying to get the mower started today, which means bye-bye to all the Spiderwort in the yard... {=(

Time to start digging out the Holly bushes again, and there's the shovel...right where I left it... {=P

I give you Echinacea, one of nature's most flamboyant flowers...^+^

The pride and craftmanship in this old buggy still shines through, even though it's been allowed to deteriorate so badly. From what I understand, the owner at the Laurel Valley Plantation just doesn't have the time and money that it would take to really maintain all the stuff that is displayed on the plantation. It's a shame, but I'd almost rather see everything in this condition...it's just real.

I REALLY shouldn’t do #inktober because works to finish, but my mind said “DO EEET!”… so here we are. I decided to do 4 big ink drawings per week AND I’M ALREADY LATE, HELP. Who knows if i’ll be able to to all of them? Also no prompts because i cba orz.

And my avatar deserved a nicer drawing anyway, so i chose her as my first inktober subject. \o

I dunno if i'll post my next inktobers on flickr since they will be not SL-related (but i can if you're interested), so i'll leave you my other art-related social if you want to see them!

Down here, Fall is really better than Summer for grilling outside. Lower temps and humidity make you actually WANT to.

As you can see, I haven't fired this smoker up for quite a while...{=/

OK, I lied. But this is definitely the last one...I promise!

I believe, hell is where there is a flaw (i.e. a section) a space through which evil can enter. Therefore, between the interstitial fences

(or cage spaces)💡, I added more material, didn't let them empty to not let it in ;-) With a 'dissection', I try to fill the empty spaces.

For this Abstract, I applied my personally conceived Light Painting by Candlelight technique, photographing some Camelia flowers underwater in darkness, painting them with the light of a candle and, from 4 different shots, I made my creativity fly.

I used several multiple long exposures, then I begun to digitally paint, trying to obtain some interesting bas-relief+3D effects.

In the end, I could not choose, so I decided to make an even more engaging Abstract work by using portions of all my 4 works.

I don't very much like the colour red, but this was the main colour due to the Camelias of a fire red!

Profondo Rosso, the famous movie by Dario Argento, the Inferno of the magistral Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri...

This is Inferno Four, enjoy the hot mood 😉

💡Big thanks to my new Friend T.rubblemaker, he he, who helped me focus and nail my Concept with his kind critique:

"Interference patterns of lava flow and fire, trapped behind, or maybe protected by the bars of a cage. Melting gold bullion

and cool gray stone are the highlights".

Be confident hell is very icy cold, at least for how I imagine it, so, this Inferno is maybe a limbo ? :-)

Inferno Quattro XL VM def

...on the shore of Lake Bruin, Louisiana.

For friends and loved ones in Florida...hunker down folks, it will be over soon...

Merry Christmas to you all, and hoping you find what you need under the tree... :)

Although I added some saturation to this, this is what it really looked like!!

A few Flickr friends and I went on a shoot to the Clark Creek Natural Area, known locally as Tunica Hills. It's actually on the border of Louisiana and Mississippi.

I've been suffering from back pain all week, and can't stay on the 'puter for very long. This shot of a local river seems to have a calming effect for my frayed nerves....yeah, right...

We actually got up really early one morning and got to the park around sunrise. Of course, not knowing where the good spot to be was, we had to take pot-luck for our chosen location.

It took me FOREVER to post process this shot to make it anywhere near acceptable, but here it is, for better or worse... :)

For insects, that is ... ;)

After a bit of a drought, the trees are really sucking up all the rain we've been getting. Of course, when it rains, it pours...especially in Louisiana.

Hope you all had a great 4th... :)

I really liked the way the hand came out in this one....

Still taking a photography (and Flickr) break, but figured I'd check in with you guys. Squiggy says 'hi', too, and for ya'll to have a happy furry Friday... :)

Just one (2) of the many original structures still occupying Laurel Valley Plantation in Louisiana. Unlike most plantations that are left, this is still an operating sugar plantation, and was the largest one in Louisiana.

Today didn't really get a shot.. So a sunset after one of those Dutch "storms" instead. Made last year. Looked surreal.

In the Palais Garnier, Paris.

This is a shot that, probably, every local photographer in Baton Rouge has taken. I've seen better shots, and I've seen worse. It's hard to walk past this downtown feature without taking a shot or two... :)

From the archives...a wild Hibiscus that also grows here in Louisiana.

On a nice day, anywhere in rural America. Fenced off, of course.

I wish I could have gotten closer...I really liked those trees!!!

Much nicer in the large size!!!!

Thanks to everyone for visits , comments , awards and invitations, I appreciate your feedback very much

The key to a smooth running shop is organization.

We had a Flickr meet up at a local rural life museum on Saturday, and had a great time with fellow photogs, Darrell, Mike, Gary, Karthik, and John.

I was playing around with the levels adjustment on this shot, and decided to go full tilt boogy with it...*+^
