Still busy prepping for the garage sale this weekend, but, when the lillies are blooming, you just have to do what you have to do... :)

In infrared, of course...

This is certainly not art photography - but a curious story I simply wanted to share.

We woke on Valentine's Day, looked out our front window, and saw two entwined hearts at the bottom of the driveway. Our first thought was some sweet neighbor had come along and scraped out the design....but it seemed too perfectly proportioned for that. Glancing out a little later, we watched the car across the road use our driveway as a turn-around, and it followed exactly the previous design of the valentines. I don't think this could ever have been done on purpose, so must have had an assist from the Cosmos. Hopefully a smile for your day.

When the sun I'd been waiting for this particular morning finally rose, it wasn't much to look at, but when I looked behind me I was pleasantly surprised... :)

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

I didn't realize the camera was set to f/2 when I clicked this shot...wish it had been on f/4. I still like the scene, though.

Hope you've enjoyed the holiday!

Unmanicured and growing however it wants. I find trees fascinating.

...weisse Ziege ... im goldenen Licht des Sonnenuntergangs

Quite a few years ago, we switched to an artificial tree and I enjoy the ease of setting it up, but I sure do miss that smell wafting around the house.

I'm not sure what was our last year for a real tree, but this shot is from 2014.

aus der Serie auf- und zu

...because it's getting damned cold outside!

I remember this shot so clearly. It was late afternoon on Canvey Island, as the light was beginning to soften, casting a beautiful glow on the emerging fig leaves. I was walking through a garden, and this sprout caught my eye. The way the two young leaves were unfurling, almost mirroring each other, was captivating.

I got down low to capture the detail, wanting to highlight the delicate veins and the fresh, vibrant green against the darker, out-of-focus background. I think the simplicity of the composition emphasises the new life and the promise of the season. There's a certain fragility and beauty in those first leaves, and I'm glad I was able to capture that moment. It's one of those images that reminds me of the quiet beauty you can find in your back garden. I used my Nikon D500 and the Lensbaby Sol 45 lens F3.5 at 500/1

Grabbed this shot yesterday of a bluff along the Comite River. You don't see many scenes like this along the Comite, as most of the terrain is very flat. This is downright mountainous in southern Louisiana... ;)

Have a good Monday... :D

This autumn in October some trees had especially vivid spectacular colours

This may be an old hop kiln barn, currently being used as a home. Oregon still has a viable hop crop, although much of that land has been turned into vineyards.
