I don't know what you call these, but I don't think they sting....they love to fly around your face like gnats!!!

I have some brighter shots of this water lilly, but I liked the dark passion of this one.

After a long dry spell, it seems to want to rain for days on end...Winter is knocking on the door.

There is a street in the middle of Zachary, Louisiana that's behind the local police station, off of main street. It's the historic part of town. It's not a very long street. It's really pretty when it snows.

I first uploaded this photo in 2005, the year I joined Flickr. That's me and my pal, Maxi-Pad.

I re-post this in honor of Flickr and what Flickr has meant to so many photographers, pro and beginners alike.

So, Happy Birthday, Flickr!!!

I came across this group of Rabbits whilst walking the cliff tops.

The countdown is on... :)

... mal wieder ein Pferd vor der Linse :)

We're still on a weather roller coaster here in the deep south, with temps fluctuating from the 80's to the 20's on a weekly basis.

Stay warm!!

One of those buildings you drive by and think, "I should get a shot of that some day...".

... mal wieder Pferde vor der Linse ....

The Mississippi Queen riverboat, decorated for Christmas on a foggy morning.

It's amazing how important it is to be electronically connected in this modern world, and how isolated it makes you feel when you can't access that connection. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but for many it's a definite reality.

BTW...in the last week I discovered just how nice it is to have access to public libraries...and their computers!!

Also...if you aren't backing up your files and photos, START! I can recommend Mozy online backup service...I am in the process of downloading ALL of the photos that I thought I had lost!!!.......^+^

Unmanicured and growing however it wants. I find trees fascinating.

The trees along the rim of Bryce Canyon show the twisted nature of things there.

I've stopped at this spot down the road from me to shoot for a few years now. I used to be able to see where a house once stood on this property and there are flowering shrubs that are now growing wild.

A couple of years back, it had a for sale sign up, but it didn't stay up for long. Now I'm noticing signs that someone is keeping it bushhogged and have removed the old pillars and steps that showed where a house once stood.

I fear that some day soon I will go to shoot the pond and there will be signs of new construction and, perhaps, barriers to access.

That will be a sad day for me.

.......here comes the sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A quick shot in fading light from underneath one of the many bridges of Paris. I liked how this ended up as an abstract focused on the curves of the structure and the effects of motion.

It's been raining on and off, and the temps are cold....so I was looking through the archives for a certain shot (which I didn't find), but I kept running across shots that I wondered why I didn't post. Just some color to brighten the spirit...

To see more Hummer shots, check out the Hummers!!! set!!!

Some wince when they find a Dandelion in their lawn. I rejoice.

A tight crop allowing a closer examination of the patterns and geometry of this dragon's anatomy.

Some outdoor art from a local music venue.

I simply MUST remember to get some OFF skeeter spray!!

btw...I wanted a shot of the river itself, but it's Summer and the thick growth of vines and prickly things blocked my way.

Have a great week!

I'm surprized that I don't have more pics of Lucy climbing trees...she loves it!!! I've noticed that the squirrels have moved a little farther away from the house!!! ....^+^

HFF!!!!!!!

All of these were taken last week in my client's garden. I don't know if she does the gardening, or if they have a gardener, but their yard is like a jungle!!!

Sonnenuntergang an der Naab....

I woke up early and stepped outside and saw this. The photo really doesn't convey just how big this Lunar Halo was...definitely the largest that I've ever seen. I first tried to shoot it with the 30mm, but had to get out the 14mm to get it all in frame!

btw...I hate my neighbor's damned street light...it so pollutes my night sky.

.... hinter dem Grashalm versteckt ....

In playing around with my new 50mm lens, I find myself looking for ANY foto opportunity just to experiment with the lens.
