“Baton Rouge woke up Tuesday to the unthinkable: snow falling for the first time in seven years and temperatures in the 20s.
At least 6 inches was reported throughout most parts of East Baton Rouge, Prairieville and Denham Springs, according to the National Weather Service. Areas of Geismar and southwestern Baton Rouge had as much as 8 inches by early Tuesday evening when the snow finally tapered, the weather service said.
It's likely to be the second-biggest snowfall in Baton Rouge history, eclipsing the 6-inch snowfall in January 1940. The all-time record is 12.5 inches, which crushed the city in February 1895.”

I know that most people will associate this title with Spring allergies, but the real reason behind it is how much the pattern of the Dandelion seedhead reminds me of nerve endings, since I've been suffering from a severe body rash for a while now. I'm heading to the doctor this morning to find out what the heck is going on... {=O

I'm not really sure what I was trying to do here, but there's something about it that I like. It was a partly cloudy day, with occasional spots of sunlight, which I enhanced in post. I tried to lighten it up with increase exposure, but it lost the mysterious quality.
Seen at a drainage canal in the heart of Baton Rouge. I need to return to this spot on a better day, when it is overcast. It was so sunny it made the post processing really difficult. It's always about the light, you know.
We transplanted this from the surrounding woods a few years back, and it's really doing well. One of the bright spots in the yard every Spring.
Seen from the Piazza Castello. Built in 1933-34 in the Italian rationalist style, it was the first high-rise in Turin and originally intended to be the headquarters of Mussolini's Fascist Party.

On our last day there, we were blessed by a rainbow over the desert.
You're supposed to cut them off, but I like to watch the seed heads on the lilies mature. The long strands are what's left of the flower.

Our Camelia bush opened it's first bloom of the season on my birthday last year...it was the best present.
