A different view of the French Quarter in New Orleans at 5:30 a.m., as dawn is breaking. The big sleepy.
Another old one from 2014 that never got posted.
I ran across this Luna moth while putting stuff out for the garage sale, and it just so happened that it matched the color of the plastic that we covered the tables with....couldn't resist.

This majestic old Live Oak lives on a vacant lot, next to a convenience store. It was there before the store, and will probably be there long after the store is gone.
Due to the high heat and humidity, I haven't been out walking the trails in a while. Also, due to the bugs...yeah, mainly the bugs...(:o
One last version of an evening watching the sun set on Lake Bruin, Louisiana. I'm not a fisherman, but it sort of makes you wish you had a boat, doesn't it...
This was growing thick, next to where I saw the butterfly. The blue blooms were sparse, but they really stood out in the sea of green!
The decaying leaf was lagniappe (an extra), as we say here in Louisiana.
A fallen water oak leaf is embraced by the vibrant leaves of a Camellia bush that is getting ready to bloom in a month or two.
This is a bud that's lower down the stem on the same plant in the previous shot. Sort of reminds one of Mick Jagger, eh?
Most of the trails at Hooper Road Park are sandy dry, but there are a couple of wet areas, with more of a "Louisiana" kind of look.
This old auto (along with another one) was abandoned in what used to be the front yard of a house that, I assume, burned down at some point. It's located right next door to a rural convenience store that I rarely go to, but is the closest business to my house. I've been meaning to take some pics of these cars for years, but just never had the time to stop there.
I don't know if anyone that lives close by would mind me going there, but the incessant barking of dogs while I was there tends to make one not want to linger for too long. I quickly shot what I could.

The fog was light, but there. It's strange how a little fog makes familiar territory seem foreign and unknown.
I will need to take some pictures of petri plates for a school experiment. So, I tested my setup with this lief my Kids collected.
I hope everyone had a safe Christmas. Looking forward to a better new year than what we've become accustomed to lately... :)
While burning the wood pile, I took a few shots of my own little wild space on this foggy morning. It was so quiet and peaceful back there, except when I spooked a rabbit!!
I thought my photostream was starting to look a bit dull, so here's a bit of Winter color to brighten things up.
The sunlight was shining through the bare trees, lighting up the green stagnant water of this small swamp.
Been too busy to get out much lately, but here's one from back in June you might like... :)
TGIF !!!
Ever since I discovered these tiny wildflowers a few years ago, I can't pass them by without taking a shot or two or ten of them...:)
Have a great weekend everyone!
