It's amazing that the fine gossamer type spiderwebs that you see in the shrubs can actually remain intact through a hard rain!! You know, the ones that are made by the tiny little spiders that you can barely see!
The wild Blackberry vines never lose their leaves, but look like they have been burnt by the occasional freeze. It won't be long before they start blooming and making berries.
Just rummaging around the archives this morning. Sometimes fun to look at an old photo with different eyes.
TGIF!!!
The facade is misleading as to the overall size and condition of this barn. I think the reason this old building is still standing is due to the concrete foundation and extreme bracing found inside.
An old carpenter friend of mine used to say, "you can under-brace, but you can never over-brace."
I was almost too late to catch the fog that morning, so I stopped short of my intended destination and grabbed a few shots at my favorite pond.
I got sidetracked and almost forgot about these shots taken in the last week of October. You can see that we're getting just a bit of Fall color.
Thanks to everyone for visits , comments , awards and invitations, I appreciate your feedback very much
A change of pace, I know, but I love the expression of this crowd of music lovers at a recent reunion concert of a local rock band from the 80's.
Playin' the hits...

Like during Halloween, the snowy hills of the Special Calas Winter regions are a must. Whether you like to sit back and enjoy the sleigh tour you can also take your own! And of course this led to a lot of fun prepering Séamir, the Irish Cob, with specials xmassy garments and more.. Let's jingle all the way!!
I got excited one morning when I saw all the fog on the way to work. As soon as I got there, I grabbed the camera and headed for the river! Alas, it was sooo foggy that I couldn't see a damned thing...}=/
...believe it or not, this is a 30 second exposure!
...or so Otis said.
Unlike Lucy was, Milo is definitely not afraid to get up close and personal...^+^
Sorry I haven't been around...I've been way busy with more mundane things, and I'll probably be gone for a while longer.
No need for comments...just a note from me to you to say 'Hi!'...^+^
I figured I'd have to go out to a nature preserve or something to get a shot of a Blue Heron, but I stopped in the middle of a subdivision on my way to work for this shot... gotta love Louisiana... :)

Snapped this at a Christmas party. I couldn't back up far enough to get the whole wall in one shot!
The color cast is from all of the Christmas lighting that was EVERYWHERE!!
A bridge down the road from me that was built when I as 15. I think it's in better shape than I am...
Trying out different views while waiting for the sun to set. The color version of this shot was nowhere near as dramatic as this black and white.
How I spotted this little guy, while walking a nature trail, was serendipitous, I suppose. Lovely camouflage, eh?
I've been sort of documenting all the new stuff that my wife has been planting in the garden, so that, when they die, we'll have something to remember them by... ;)
This one is called Aeonium Zwartkop.
addendum: how strange, that, one day after I posted this photo and put the name Black Hole Sun on it, the lead singer of Soundgarden, Chris Cornell, has died at the early age of 52. I was a big fan and will miss his talent.
