A field near the chapel with some colourful oilseed rape growing in it.

I managed to make it out in time to see the sun rise this morning on the first day of 2012.

The sky was moody, but there was a little bit of sun about for a few photos.

I hope you all have a good first day of the year.

I paid a visit to Harleston recently and stumbled on a fascinating pottery studio. These plants were arranged in pots made in the studio at the entrance.

A grand looking hotel situated along the seafront @ Lowestoft. It was looking particularly fine when I walked past it one Sunday recently.

I have walked past the Catholic Cathedral in Norwich many times, but I have never been in it.

The other day I decided to change that & paid it a visit. I wasn't disappointed, by what was inside. It was a very grand, atmospheric place & I really enjoyed getting some photos inside. This is the first of several shots I got.

I go a photo of the outside of the church a few years ago & it can be seen here:

girl in the middle of ikebukuro station (underground) in tokyo charging her phone to listen to her messages!

this was taken late at night (past midnight) during the rush to catch the last train home. there wasn't much more time until the last train so obviously her messages were so important to listen to that she could hold off from rushing to the platform.

what amazes me is that she found a power point to put her recharger in. actually, they sometimes have stalls here in this walkway, so i guess that is why they need power outlets there. still, i would have never thought to plug in my phone and listen to messages!

A bus shelter wouldn't normally be an obvious choice for a photo. However this one in Aldeby was quite striking.

A spot of selective colouring helped things along too.

This shot made it to Explore on 28/09/2012 - my second entry that day! Double thanks for looking everyone.

I came across this tree while heading toward the woods at Muford near me. I was struck by the number of branches sprouting out from it.

The frosty weather didn't put people coming onto the beach - or dogs either.

One of several dogs on the beach that morning was Jigger, who is making his Flickr debut here.

In this shot he is taking a brief pause before getting ready to pursue the ever present tennis balls that get taken onto the beach.

An impressive looking greenhouse in the grounds of Raveningham Hall.

I ventured onto the beach once more on Saturday, to take in the scene as the sun began to set. It was probably the finest time of the day.

I really enjoy late afternoon shots like this. Nikon N90s with 28-70mm f/2.6-2.8 lens and Fujichrome Velvia slide film.

A row of huts with rather colourful doors along the seafront. The colours looked really vibrant on this crisp, fresh morning.

I paid a visit to a dog show in a nearby village the other weekend.

Not surprisingly there were plenty of dogs whose photos were just asking to be taken. This is one of the first shots I got, a Red Merle called Tess.

Tess was actually part of the Lowestoft Dog Aglility team, who were putting on a display at the show. I have seen the team in action before & even got some photos of them in action:
