Il existe trois sous-espèces de Fous de Bassan (Morus Bassanus) dans le monde : l’une d’elles se trouve le long de la côte sud de l’Afrique, une autre en Tasmanie et en Nouvelle-Zélande, et l’autre dans l’Atlantique Nord.
Le plumage de l’adulte est d’un blanc éblouissant. Une bande étroite de couleur grise encercle les yeux, mais la pointe des ailes est d’un noir de jais. Pendant la saison de nidification, la tête et le cou de l’oiseau prennent une délicate nuance jaune safran. Les yeux sont bleu clair, et le bec est bleu ou gris-bleu.
À l’automne, les jeunes ont le plumage brun rayé et tacheté de blanc. Au fil des saisons, le plumage pâlit; il présente la teinte blanche de l’adulte vers la quatrième ou la cinquième année.
The Cairns Birdwing butterfly is the largest of all Australian butterflies and found along north eastern Australia from Mackay to Cooktown.
Its scientific name is Ornithoptera euphorion

As the snow storm with gusting winds up to 60 mph was building up in Mammoth Mountain, I figured I better leave town before I got snowed in and would be forced to buy snow chains. Descending on 395 below the snow line, I took the McGee Creek offramp to turn around and take photos of the storm I had left behind.
This is the view facing Northwest towards Mammoth Mountain. I believe this peak is Laurel Mountain, blocking Mammoth Mountain behind.
Surprisingly, this is a full color photo and I have not desaturated any of the colors. That's just how it was!

Der Walensee ist ein See in den östlichen Voralpen in der Schweiz und liegt in den Kantonen St. Gallen und Glarus. Hauptzufluss und Abfluss des Walensees ist die Linth.
Zweimal im Jahr gibt es ein Naturspektakel, in welchem die Sonne mittig über dem See untergeht. Ein Traum zum Ansehen.

The Walensee is a lake in the eastern Prealps in Switzerland and is located in the cantons of St. Gallen and Glarus. The Linth is the main inflow and outflow of the Walensee.
Twice a year there is a natural spectacle in which the sun sets in the middle of the lake. A dream to watch.

This was taken a few months ago at Studley Royal, next to Fountains Abbey. It's been rinsed through most of the Nik Collection progs and the file size is now quite spectacular.
It's one of the offspring in a hollow tree stump. Possibly the eldest.

Always a surprise how poorly my GRii handles flare but how well that can be mitigated through mono converting the RAW files.
This tree intrigues me every time I walk by. It is a majestic specimen and seems to accentuate the mood of the season.

Clear for launch! I have evolved this year in my photographic approach. I have focused far more on project-based photography and I've derived great enjoyment from it. Images like this one stand on their own merits, but they also function very well to round out projects like these. I have 3 more images planned for this project, but that by no means is a statement that the quality of the individual images will be declining.
