or Macro Monday's New Year's Resolution Theme.
Typically, I don't make resolutions but one thing that I will whole-heartedly continue to do is, support my local farmers and artisans. I will continue to purchase and use whenever possible, in-season locally raised, organic produce and meats. Real food tastes better....
First assignment of 2012. The theme is Fresh Start. So I'm on a health kick... Isn't everybody!?

Hereios - New Years Resolutions
I went meme crazy in my photostream this year, so why not have one last meme before year's end? :D
Every year, I say that this is the year that I'm going to start dating and possibly get a girlfriend, and every year that goal just falls flat. But time is running out. I'll turn 39 in 2013 and I'll be on the verge of a midlife crisis, so in 2013, I have to make more of an effort to get over my fear of talking to women and get at least one date. Ideally, I'd like to get a girlfriend, but just getting one date, regardless of it was awesome or it was hell, would be an accomplishment.
(And before anyone asks: no, I don't actually skype =)
For Macro Monday's New Year's Resolution Theme.
I don't typically do resolutions. I have zero self discipline and commitment issues. So why set myself up to fail? For the sake of "art" I'm making a few this year. And since I don't want to doom myself to fail I choose not to work in absolutes.
I'm not giving up chocolate or eating sweets or anything as drastic as that. My resolution is to eat less crappy poor quality domestic chocolate (sorry, Steve but compared to Belgian, Swiss and German chocolate, Hershey's is poo...) and eat more of the good stuff.

This weekly assignment is to capture the idea of the “new years resolution”. What was resolved to change for the better, in your life, that of your friends or perhaps just the idea that was thrust upon you by a well-meaning government/help agency.. (to stop drinking/smoking/eating excessively…etc).
I didn't actually make a New Years Resolution so made one up.
Drink Less - Broken
What it took.
One empty wine bottle (NZ Sav Balnc)
One old towel
Wine glass with a little wine
Sunny day
Front door step
Trusty camera
Take bottle put in towel and carefully break. Pick up tiny shards of glass that escaped towel. Artiscally arrange glass and broken bottle and shoot away.
Some post processing to bring out the green in the bottle (as not sure what doing fluked that a bit)
My New Year's Resolution. Oh... and subtract about 5 lbs for my camera and lens....LOL. Taken for Jennifer's Photo Scavenger Hunt
The kids always want all of us to come up with New Years resolutions. Rather than the typical "eat healthier", "lose weight", "be kind to my fellow man", etc... resolutions that I never seem to be able to keep I decided to go with one much more within my grasp :-).
My New Years Resolution is to be the best new Dad possible.

The Hereios are making New Years Resolutions today!
Personally I don't make resolutions...I find that they seem to be broken within 2 weeks. We attack them with gusto and more often than not the ones we make are grand and not easy to keep (after all isn't that what you're supposed to do?)
"I'm going to give up sugar"
"I'm going to finally go on that diet and lose 50lbs"
"I'm going to work out Everyday"
I decided a long time that I would make promises to myself rather than resolutions. I don't want to feel like I'm a failure so I make reasonable non specific promises.
"I'm going to work on being a better me"
"I'm going to work on learning to forgive"
"I'm going to start the journey towards getting healthy"
"I'm going to keep trying to live Gluten Free"
"I'm going to run across the ocean floor at low tide"
All of those were promises that I've managed to keep this year and they're promises that I'm going to make again this year...minus the running across the ocean floor...been there done that...time for some Dirty Donkey!
The big promise though is this...I'm going to live each day like it's one big awesome party and I think the next 365 is going to be the funnest one yet!
