We are a progressive and forward thinking business networking organisation that brings local businesses together each week for an hour of interactive networking.
At each meeting one member delivers a 15-minute presentation to the meeting.
Then, each person speaks for five minutes about their business while sitting at a table of six. Tables are mixed each week, so you get to meet different people. Saturday 15th May 2021 was expected to be the last day of operation for Great Northern's Class 365 units after nearly 25 years of service. On the 14th, the final weekday 1P05 06:37 Peterborough to London King's Cross diagram ran in an expanded 12-car formation, including units Nos.365502 (leading) and 365522 (trailing).
The service is seen at Holme Green crossing in murky and slightly drizzly conditions, having just left Biggleswade for the capital.

My favorite movie of all time. I want to avoid the cliche quotes from these movies. The "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take anymore" speech is great but I think there are better ones. If you've never seen this you really owe it to yourself. Its one of those movies that is timeless.

Finally got the cables and cable management hardware to finish cleaning up my network rack. I will get the equipment to convert Video Surveillance to a Synology solution to replace the server based Geovision system that suffers from software issues.
Childhood Re-imagined. All of my favorite cartoon characters at one place. Nowadays children will never even know that some of these characters even existed. This was the product of Nostalgia and Fanboy-ism.
The network cabinet, which connects the gigabit ethernet out of the NTD to the gigabit Cisco VPN router (RV220W).
I have split the network out into 5 VLAN's to allow me to use QoS:
VLAN 1: Network Admin
VLAN 10: VOIP
VLAN 25: Office
VLAN 50: Home
VLAN 100: Guest network
The VOIP duties are catered by a Cisco ATA (SPA112). This is a 2-line ATA adapter which allows me to have one phone number for home (with iinet) and a second which connects to my work's asterix phone system.
After getting the house cabled with multiple network points in each room (by Fallon Services) I needed a network switch large enough to connect all the network together. I found a Netgear semi-managed switch (GS724Tv3) whcih allows me to split the VLAN's out into separate sockets on the switch. A separate Netgear managed switch (GS105e) also is contained in my office as I have all the VLAN's trunked in there.
With the remaining space in the network cabinet I decided to put my 2 mac-mini servers (one for DNS work in my office, the other media dutues) in the cabinet along with the external HDD's for photo backup & media storage.

The Easley-Pickens line was chartered on December 24, 1890, by the South Carolina General Assembly after two failed attempts to build a railroad through Pickens from Easley. The line connected with the Atlanta and Charlotte Air Line Railroad (later the Southern Railway) and was completed in 1898.
On the railroad's first revenue run, the Pickens Railroad suffered a serious derailment that was caused by a local group of boys that had placed spikes on the rails, in their words, "to see what would happen." No one was seriously injured, but caused the fledgling company a serious financial setback, which operated in the red until 1905.
In its early years, it was nicknamed the "Pickens Doodle" because the train would run backwards to Easley and forward to Pickens, which "looked like a doodlebug," according to area residents. The Pickens Railroad, at the time did not have turning facilities until the line built two wye sections of track at each end of the line years later.
The Southern Railway briefly acquired control of the Pickens around 1910, however, it was reverted to local interests several years later.
In the 1920s, Singer Manufacturing located a sewing machine cabinet plant on the Pickens Railroad. The plant eventually became the railroad's biggest customer and the line was purchased outright in 1939 by Singer. In 1927, the Appalachian Lumber Company built a network of logging lines in the upper portion of Pickens County. By 1939, it too was also acquired by Singer and organized under the Poinsett Lumber and Manufacturing Company. Passenger service was discontinued in 1928 as better roads were built in the region.
In 1959, The Singer Company consolidated its sawmill and cabinet operations with the woodworking operations from Arkansas and the Craftsman power tools from New Jersey to the Pickens location. Several years later (in 1963), Poinsett Lumber and Manufacturing Company had announced that the Pickens Railroad was for sale. James F. Jones of North Carolina purchased the line for approximately $50,000. Jones built a new enginehouse and established a carshop for rebuilding and renovating railroad cars. Jones sold the Pickens in 1973 to Philadelphia-based National Railway Utilization Company (NRUC), which expanded the carshop to build new freight cars.
In the early 1990s NRUC became Emergent Group and sold the railroad to CLC-Chattahoochee Locomotive Corp., which renamed the railroad Pickens Railway Company, according to the Federal Register, 1 May 1996.
In 1991, Norfolk Southern Railway leased the Belton-Honea Path line to the Pickens under the "Thoroughbred Shortline Program." This line was built in the 1840s by the Greenville & Columbia, eventually becoming part of the Southern.
in 1994, the Pickens expanded further by leasing the Belton-Anderson line from Norfolk Southern. This line was built in the 1840s as part of the Blue Ridge Railway. Included was former Anderson trackage that had belonged to CSX previously owned by the Piedmont & Northern and Charleston & Western Carolina.

I have so many connections on LinkedIn it became almost unusable and started becoming a repository of business contacts. This visualization, though mesmerizing to me at first and to others as well, is interesting though the groups are spread around time, location, profession and education.
The top and left is more related to my design expertise, the lower right is more my personal life.
Also the edges are filled with people I barely know. Then again in the center it is often the same.
