One of the oddities of First Eastern Counties is that whilst Ipswich, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft have gained a strong red identity for local operations, or specific liveries for Coastlink or Clipper routes, the Norwich operations continue with standard First livery albeit with some colour coded fronts. However, 36185 BN12JYH is fully standardised on a warm July 22nd 2022 in Norwich.

Finally got the cables and cable management hardware to finish cleaning up my network rack. I will get the equipment to convert Video Surveillance to a Synology solution to replace the server based Geovision system that suffers from software issues.

The network cabinet, which connects the gigabit ethernet out of the NTD to the gigabit Cisco VPN router (RV220W).

I have split the network out into 5 VLAN's to allow me to use QoS:

VLAN 1: Network Admin

VLAN 10: VOIP

VLAN 25: Office

VLAN 50: Home

VLAN 100: Guest network

The VOIP duties are catered by a Cisco ATA (SPA112). This is a 2-line ATA adapter which allows me to have one phone number for home (with iinet) and a second which connects to my work's asterix phone system.

After getting the house cabled with multiple network points in each room (by Fallon Services) I needed a network switch large enough to connect all the network together. I found a Netgear semi-managed switch (GS724Tv3) whcih allows me to split the VLAN's out into separate sockets on the switch. A separate Netgear managed switch (GS105e) also is contained in my office as I have all the VLAN's trunked in there.

With the remaining space in the network cabinet I decided to put my 2 mac-mini servers (one for DNS work in my office, the other media dutues) in the cabinet along with the external HDD's for photo backup & media storage.

I have so many connections on LinkedIn it became almost unusable and started becoming a repository of business contacts. This visualization, though mesmerizing to me at first and to others as well, is interesting though the groups are spread around time, location, profession and education.

The top and left is more related to my design expertise, the lower right is more my personal life.

Also the edges are filled with people I barely know. Then again in the center it is often the same.

For the next three weeks I will be unable to do the Blythe Network News as I will be a traveling Blythe myself. I will be in Japan on a great adventure. BNN has received the permission of the shows sponsor, Minkidynamite to bring in a guest reporter. Suzy’s girl Nixie will be stepping in. Her views and her views only are the only ones authorized by this station and no one else from Suzy’s household (Pen). Remember if you have a girl who would like to be a reporter for this station she would be welcome (except Pen). Suzy will send me a link so anyone who is not one of her contacts can still hear the news. I will sign off for now. Stay well everyone and I look forward to seeing you when I return! Good night this is Blythe Network News.

WASHINGTON DC - 2021 Spring Meetings

The lingering pandemic has dealt the global economy an unprecedented shock, and the recovery is likely to be slow and uneven. Disadvantages and inequalities have been amplified, with harm falling hardest on poorer people, firms, and countries which face obstacles to financial resources and networks. Our panelist discuss what is needed to support a faster and deeper economic recovery that lays a foundation for a more sustainable and inclusive global economic system.

Oprah Winfrey Network Invitation

Oprah Winfrey Network.

15 times, I have cycled 7 days, 575 miles, from San Francisco to Los Angeles in a cycling charity event called AIDSLifecycle. In route to Los Angeles, I (and 2,000 of my best friends) cycle thru Montecito - the home to Oprah Winfrey.

Each Year, the locals of Montecito gather and create their own "Paradise Pit Stop" for the approx. 2,000 AIDSLifecycle Cyclist & 400 Volunteer Crew members. There you can find: chocolate bars, strawberries, homemade ice cream, vegan treats, corn dogs, Twinkies, coco cola, massages, and then some.. ... ALL YOU CAN EAT ...GRATIS!

Years ago (as I ate my strawberries and homemade ice cream), I asked several Montecito residents: "Where is the Oprah Winfrey Network?"
