Wild Konik horses, a.k.a. Polish primitive horses in the Lauwersmeer-area

Hay. What's up?

I'm telling you - I'm not about to horse around or pretend that I know something I do not - aka, I'm not pretending I'm sitting on a high horse.

What I'm trying to bring across is that I think that this gate is in a category of its own- a horse of a different colour, if you wish.

AND it's as rare as rocking horse's droppings - never saw a similar one.

This is coming straight from the horse's mouth, without using any foal language.

I almost drove past-ure it, but I hoofed it back as fast as I could. Neigh, I doubt you take me seriously. I've become a little hoarse from trying to explain.

took a long tome to learn to smile so openly in photos as Helen.

I always had those eyes that said a million words but getting the face muscles to develop a smile was neigh on impossible.

Problem is today we are not allowed to tell people to smile or cheer up because we don't know what inner turmoil they maybe experiencing.

All i can say is even if your world is turning to the smelly stuff try to smile it will make you feel better and make your photos look better. Unless of course you are going for the moody look then carry on as you are.

Well end up painting the walls in the hallway today, just the white and touched up the blue in places. sure i was meant to be doing somthing else aswell

Not that he does much neighing. He mostly rolls in the dirt and eats most of the day.

My Photostream

I went out and tried a bit of night photography with the Canon, it's surprisingly capable... Still to grainy at ISO 400, but any lower and I'd need a tripod.

Tell you what though, focusing was neigh impossible it was so dark! Well, focus peaking and I were equally struggling.

Girl: "No, he can't. He's a little hoarse."

Okay, you needed a little humor to get you to today! Hope you had a laugh or two. (Or a groan!)

Have a great weekend!

Watch Me Whip, Watch Me Neigh Neigh

My kind of neighbor.

All the animals gathered, a truce for the moment among predator and prey, lions stood next to lambs and snakes next to mice... Even the mythical unicorns came to this meeting, of such utter importance was this meeting.

Roars, chirps, tweets and neighing all at once next to the ancient tree, they called her Root Mother, she could not speak but communicated still be her whispering leaves, they say she was around before the dinosaurs emerged...

The co-chairmen of the meeting the wise Moose, the fierce Lion and the magical Unicorn all said in one voice:

We all know why we are summoned to this meeting, We all know what needs to be done... how shall we exterminate this vile beast know as mankind to save our planet and world from annihilation???

Misty morning. Testing the tiny Ricoh compact camera on the fence vanishing.

Suddenly I heard a snort, and there he was - demanding some of the lush grass my side of the fence. The camera took the picture, while I stood shocked.

Gloomy white horse

In his eagerness to run, he doesn't run. He yearns to neigh, and does not neigh.

In the shadows of the nightmare suffers, The horseshoe in the mud sticks.

He is free to look, but even the grass is chosen. In the loins it has strength, and in the loins it is dominated.

In youth, it has an ivory price. In old age he is a beast.

It belongs to fables and conquerors. It runs briskly on the banks of the great river.

Illusion! It ended up in the hands of inquisitors. Thirst and hunger pass, it has a dark aspect.

Show name: See No Evil

Barn name: Bailey

Gender: Mare

DOB: 05/14/05

Thoroughbred, clydesdale cross

Owner: Jessie & Adam

Stabled at: Hoofproud Ranch

No eyes

---

Bailey was born eyeless, and though she should have been PTS, emotions got in the way, and they kept her alive. They've done their best to train her, however, after earning her a broken leg from said training, due to not having a clue how to handle a blind horse, Bailey was surrendered to Hoofproud Ranch, where she's properly cared for.

The end is neigh

Here I am after a long abstence from Flickr (maybe the longest since I've started to be here).

I took this picture on a Sunday: I was working for "Il Rifugio degli Asinelli ONLUS" with an info kiosk at San Savino Fair, a horse exhibition which takes places every July in Ivrea, a city near Turin. I was a bit upset when I saw many photographers with DSLR and telezoom and so many photo-ops around, as I had just my old point-and-shoot with me (actually I was there for job, not for taking pictures!).

Anyway I'm quite satisfied of some pictures, and this is the one I like more.

I hope it will give you a smile :)

See the detail of nose and ear ice in large view :-)

While in large view, see the de-tail at the end of the de-horse :-)))

It's Food For Thought Week! Who's hungry? After weeks of long landscape shots, I know I'm looking to get up close & personal with a DoFalicious & delicious snack.

Pictures like this remind me the good times, in fact Leylands had probably worked on the X80 for neigh on 30 odd years starting with the A-VAF's and ending with the K-LAE's.

Thankfully Riverlink can still be relied on to provide some quality, their Olympian K573RRH is behind the excellent K616LAE loading up.
