An Alice in Wonderland view of the world through the orb of artist Lisa Pettibone. Lisa created the Optical Tree in the grounds of Lacock Abbey in Wiltshire. This was once the home of the photographic pioneer William Fox Talbot who in 1835, through his experiments with light, created the negative-positive photographic process. Up to recently this was the dominant method for creating photographic prints.

Thought I'd have a go at copying large format negatives with a digital camera. It worked not bad at all.

I put a diffuse light source behind the nagative, put the digital camera on a tripod and photographed the negative.

All in for this group activity.

Are we fishing or texting?

"NOT FUNNY STUFF"

I made a pin-hole camera about a week ago from a bunch of garbage and other stuff lying around the house here. These are some of the pictures from it. I'm kind of excited with how some of the photos turned out, but I have only scanned in about a third of the negatives so far because it takes so long. Hopefully more will be on the way soon!

This is the flyer for my darkroom in London. These are the negatives developed in Caffenol-C. Looks like my best negatives with coffee base developer so far, but I won't be sure until the negatives dry and I scan them.

Reclaimed negative from a (rather overexposed) Fuji FP100C45 instant print, which involves bleaching off the backing and (carefully) washing the developer off the front. Think I'm getting a bit more detail out of the negative than out of the print. Interesting result, look forward to treating some more.

Fuji Fp100c negatives that have been bleached, some more successfully than others. Negatives scanned using iPad and iPhone as I don't have a flatbed scanner for this size negative. Hello Photo app used for scans, snapseed and photoshop express apps used for cropping and flipping of negs.

#211 in my photo-a-day project.

Another 'what on earth can I find to photograph?' shot. Ceiling lights in the living room, taken with cameraphone in negative mode (and mood!).
