The original boxes that I have to process of glass plate negatives and lantern slides from my Great-Uncle Stanley's surviving collection. I think they all date from before the First World War.
This would have made a great variant Air Adventurer. As it is, finding that elusive yellow jumpsuit is exciting enough.
At last, I'm done scanning all of my old 35mm negatives with the Nikon Coolscan. Just five and a half years after "going digital". And by that I don't mean shooting with a digital camera which I started doing at about the same time, but scanning over two thousand frames as a way to get into the digital flow, which I ended up doing twice because the first time the results just didn't cut it for me. And that's not including the more than two thousand frames scanned since then. In fact I shot more film in the five plus years since "going digital" than in the previous thirty, thanks to the digital scanner and post-processing possibilities !!
So here's a tribute to some old Kodacolor film captured with the latest digital Kodak Easyshare Max/Z990.

Just messing about and noticed that the previous photo in this set ("Last Quarter Moon") as a negative really shows up some of the features, such as the massive ejector rays from the impact craters of Copernicus and Kepler (big impacts plus low gravity = lots of material going a long way!).

But I didn't really do it for that - I think it looks kind of neat too ! - almost skull-like.

I recently bought a job lot of glass negatives at auction and just spent a few hours photographing them on a lightbox with my dslr then 'developing' them in Photoshop.

I decided to put this up in its negative form as well because the overlapping screaming figures are clearer this way. This is a great image by Matt. I have the only print and where the negative is only God knows. Of course this was shot back in the "old days" before digital photography. The more I look at it the more remarkable I think it really is.
