This was one of many stray cats that we met during our time in Zadar. It was happily amusing itself trying to catch the plastic tape attached to the pole.
A lot of cats have been 'adopted' by the restaurants - or perhaps it's the other way round! These seem to thrive with guests, like us, giving them morsels from our meals to eat. Others appear to be doing OK too... We regularly saw a lady on her bicycle, laden with both wet and dry food that she dished out to individual cats every night. I also bought and handed out Dreamies (our cat's absolute favourite treat) to any cat that looked like it needed a little extra!
A miles from my next pickup. I pulled over and took several pictures of this pond, and then had to hurry on my way. Guess I'll do my reflecting at the end of my day. This shot is obviously focused on just the reflection of the trees beside this pond. I liked the dark warm colors rendered by the available light filtering thru the dense cloud coverage.

Nearly as large as an albatross, the Northern Gannet is sharp in every respect, with a heavy, sharp bill, pointed tail, and long slender wings. Adults are snowy white with black wingtips and a crown washed with gold. There are few sights more spectacular than the congregation of gannets on the North Sea coast.
Around a quarter of a million birds visit Bempton Cliffs between March and October each year and the most impressive gathering is arguably the arrival of the gannets

The Almost Rose
She is nearly fully open, but with rain storms forecast for later today I thought I should take a photo in case she gets damaged.
Oh my god, I've changed my mind three times tonight about what to post. Gonna go with this mountain scene taken near Bishop, CA.
Got a couple of hours before I have to go to bed, so I'll let the picture speak for itself, while I go see what you've been posting the past few days.

While in Lima nearly 10 years ago now, I had the joy and privilege of meeting Claudia Luthi, a wonderful photographer and a wonderful human being who sadly is no longer with us.
We spent the better part of a day exploring on foot a region she has photographed extensively and which was the subject of her essay for the Souvenirs exhibition we were both involved in. This series of small towns, about an hour’s drive south of Lima, are in a narrow stretch of land between the Panamerican highway and the sea. They were developed as seaside resorts in recent years, with a high rate of economic failure. Out of season the area is virtually deserted and eerily peaceful.
Not sure that this sunflower has realised that it’s nearly autumn. It’s also a very small flower head, only about an inch across!
