The Steintor U-Bahn station in Hanover features a distinctive architectural design created by the Milanese designer Alessandro Mendini in 1997. This station is known for its bold black and yellow checkerboard pattern, which creates a striking visual impact. Mendini's design consists of two narrow, identical structures facing each other, with a passage opening in the middle. The roofs are topped with yellow pointed hats, further adding to the unique appearance of the station (Source: regiopia.de + + + regiopia.com).

A view from the cab as SP's I-SF-24 train navigates the loops at Goldtree, just north of San Luis Obispo, California.
Following on from my previous shot at Littlehampton harbour, this is the arm on the West side of the harbour with the Port navigation light on, My longer exposures did what I had envisaged and that is to capture the navigation lights on, I wanted to capture both lights on in a long exposure which I managed to do which i`ll show in another shot from here as the sun set. The darker lines are incoming waves, there was a nice swell running that day.
Navigating through the rugged Thompson Canyon, CPKC train 304 is illuminated by the sun for a brief moment.

A detail of the scene but without the wolf. I like this one because you can see the texture of the cinnamon stick and the snickerdoodles.

During a full-weekend engineering possession on the Caerphilly branch (presumably at Heath Junction), Freightliner 'Shed' 66621 heads a rake of discharged ballast wagons back to Westbury early on Sunday morning running as the 9.00am departure from this station, Cardiff Queen Street. Out of sight and tailing the formation is sister unit 66592.
For what is an incredibly busy station during the week, Sundays seems to start slowly here with barely a handful of passengers distributed around the place. In fact the first train to the main Central station wasn't due out until 9.11am.
The chap on platform 4 studying his phone while waiting for a train up to the Valleys, doesn't seem too impressed by the presence of a proper diesel locomotive. Maybe he should be - with the recent demise of regular coal traffic through the station, the appearance of proper locomotives is a pretty rare event here these days.
Much has changed in the city, even over the last 5-10 years, with many new buildings gracing the skyline, and more currently being built. And, with the Welsh Senedd based here, it does have the feeling of a city on the rise.

Tickling an image of mine with AI.
In the miniature world of insects, beneath the towering canopies of mushrooms, a bustling community thrived. It was a place where ants marched with purpose, beetles scuttled in search of treasure, and spiders wove intricate webs between the fungal giants.
One sunny day, a curious ladybug named Lila decided to take a stroll under the mushroom forest. As she wandered beneath the towering caps, she marveled at the dappled sunlight filtering through the delicate gills above. To her, it felt like strolling through a grand cathedral, with the mushroom stems standing tall like pillars reaching for the sky.
But as Lila ventured deeper into the shadows, she encountered unexpected obstacles: drops of dew clinging to the mushroom caps. To her tiny feet, they were vast lakes, forcing her to navigate with care to avoid getting soaked.
Despite the challenges, Lila pressed on, enchanted by the beauty of her surroundings. And as she emerged from the mushroom forest, she couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder at the hidden world that existed just beneath her feet.

A location I had been thinking about for a while.
I had to take our car in for some attention and the garage was about halfway there so there was an opportunity to go the rest of the way to Littlehampton for the shots I had in mind afterwards.
I got there just on sunset time, my aim was to shoot the harbour lights together, they both don`t blink at the same time so a long exposure was called for to synchronize both lights on at the same time.
I`ll post the Port navigation light in due course and then the full wide shot as the tide dropped, I was then able to get down on the wet sand to take in not only both harbour lights but also a rather spectacular sunset as well.
I have shot Littlehampton harbours lights way back in 2015 but the tide on that occasion was really low, i`ll pop that shot in the box below.
Monte Viso (Italy) and its ramparts descending on a sea of clouds.
During this beautiful autumn sunset I felt as being on an exposed side of a vessel engaged to navigate for endless seas...
Quite visible, below, the Lake Superior and Lake Lausetto (frozen).

The boatmen are integral part of the life around Ganges. There are many who have rowed all their lives - as adolescents, adults and now elderly. They still start their day with a prayer to the sacred river. Come monsoons, the river often floods and they don’t earn enough even to make it to two meals a day. Their love for the boats and the Ganges keeps them at their oars. A ride with a chatty boatman is more than what Google can ever tell you about hotels, deals, prayer times, weather, godmen and weed.
The occasional yacht or sailboat going between the Gulf of Mexico and Charlotte Harbor beneath the setting sun made for great photography opportunities over the Christmas holiday. We were staying in the resort which comprised the second floor of the beautiful Fishermen's Village in Punta Gorda... and I spent our stay there virtually with the camera in my hands.
