If any of you have wondered where I get it, my father chimed in that the tacos I made for the AGM were "okay". The filling was good, but the tortillas "sucked".
It's not that he was wrong. It's that he was bang on. As always.
Family motto seems to be: you can't get better if you don't know what you did wrong... so let me tell you, in detail.
(The problem was that the tortillas were cooked at too low a temperature. Gerry did a new batch the next day and they were fantastic!)

Rifle Stock Work in Progress
We are making a new batch of rifles for WonderCon 2010. The new ones are being made from a better grade of plywood, which should hold paint better than the old batch.
this is a couple of months old now, but we only just got a new batch of our wedding pics. i like this one because it has this kind of tranquillity about it, i love the setting sun and the calm water. in reality i was pissed because my husband was missing in action and the photographer and i were annoyed!:)

John's new batch of honey bee's are being fed sugar syrup after their long journey to him, hopefully this wis also encourage them to get used to their new geography. You can see how the colour differs and the comb is white as it hasn't been made from true flower nectar.

We've been away for a long weekend trip, but we're back now, so here's the beginning of a new batch of trip pictures. We'll start this time with a rest stop on Interstate 57 in downstate Illinois next to Rend Lake, a 13-mile-long reservoir along the Big Muddy River. There's a state park here we've never visited, because it's way down near the bottom of the state, and we only go that way when we're headed for someplace even farther. It seems like a pretty enough lake, but this time we noticed something weird. It was hosting a million gulls, all swarming around like they were auditioning for a Hitchcock movie. It was very strange and unexpected.

I am amazed at how much these guys eat! They eat, they rest, they eat, they rest and they grow so fast. I spotted a new batch of tiny caterpillars earlier this week and already they are almost as big as this one.
This one is almost big enough to begin to look for a safe, protected place to pupate. Hopefully I'll be able to locate the chrysalis and provide more photos.

spring in the danish countryside has meant that a whole new flock of clarity birds has descended upon our little farmhouse in the country. i went out one morning and there they were, nesting happily in the troldehassel (a curly hazel) tree. some of them were dressed in vintage finery and many had sparkling eyes like swarovski crystals. and all of them sang their pretty danish names to me. it seems the entire flock were girls!
they're all ready to fly home to you, a fresh little breath of spring from the troldehassel in the garden in denmark.
