you can never have too much.

Got these 1TB iomega USB drives from the ComputerAlliance for $119 each, which ain't a real bad price.

Not worth makin' 'em yourself for that.

I also got a 1 TB Netgear Stora NAS. It thinks it's way smarter than it is - ie it doesn't let you do things that it doesn't want you to - which happened to be the things I wanted to do. I took it back.

Under the top panel.

Got a 1GB stick to install in my ReadyNAS NV+. Amazon has the best price on the Crucial RAM that's compatible.

The case comes off with screws in three sections. RAM snaps into a standard socket.

Netgear recommends running the memory test twice on new RAM before using it. Just hold the power button down until the 5th blink, the display wil read 25: Memory Test. Took about 3 hours to finish both cycles.

Lunch 2.0 @ NetGear.

I don't know what X-Change is, but I imagine it’s part of their X-RAID system which allows you to build and configure RAID (multi-disk) solutions. This was taped to the back of one of their 4 disk 1-U rackmount servers which would go in a colocation or an office backroom.

Through the luck of the lighting and the angle, this photo came out very nice. After all, rack mounted anything looks sort of ugly and industry, unless you have say…10 rackes of 48. :-) Trying to start a new "look" for Lunch 2.0 photography: CHLomo!

My system consists of 2 desktops, 1 corpy laptop and one SBS 2003 R2 server. I also use Skype, Oooma a Netgear FVS336G Duel WAN router firewall with IPSEC/SSL VPN. I run all of my work desktops on a domain and all other destops and laptops in the home run in the DMZ so I don't have to worry about the kids contracting worms. My main system runs the 42 inch center display and two 22 inch displays, one on each side of the center 42 inch display as one large desktop. My second system runs the next 2 20 inch displays (one on each side of the center 3 displays) and the video is set up to duplicate the desktop on each display. I chat in S2 with the clients on the far left keyboard and then when they give me their address information I spin around to the corpy which is running on an 18 inch lcd (the blue screen on the far right) and get the client's info off of the duplicated 20 inch lcd sitting next to it. So whatever direction I happen to be looking I can always see if someone is chatting with me in S2. You can't see it in the picture but the room gets so hot that I have an independent air conditioning system in the room to help the main home system keep the tempurature correct. As you can see I also have my leather chair and it's pointing to a 32 inch TV which I usually listen to the stock market news while I work. ;)

This is the home structured media panel installed. ISDN was the only choice for high speed internet in Turkey Canon Ranch.

Lunch 2.0 @ NetGear.

When I got back inside, one of the first people I met was Hasan. Hasan was one of the first Lunch 2.0’ers and he’s back!

I forgot the light change so this is past the shake limit of the lens. I should have upped the ISO. Oh well! Also, I’d have preferred to turn this into a BW, but Hasan has already linked this photo so I’m going to leave it as is. Trying to start a new "look" for Lunch 2.0 photography: CHLomo!
