Christmas vacation will be over in a couple of weeks and yet, i am here stuck in the same place. I WANT TO GO ON AN ADVENTURE. i want to do something other than surfing the net, browsing flickr accounts, viewing different photographs of random people who are out there satisfied as they explore the world. i would love to see and experience something different- something out of my daily routine (wake up, eat, take a bath, internet, eat, tv, internet, sleep). i want to go somewhere (i don't care wherever it'll be) and I literally pray for this, seriously.

Good thing, my wish has been answered (^_^). I thought, i will be spoiling the whole vacation doing the same thing. Thanks to a friend who agreed to go and do something with me :). She's an angel. weee. although we only have plans right now and we still don't have the exact date, i am still pretty much happy. Just the thought of "going somewhere" and "doing something" with somebody makes me happy. HAHA. I need this break. I need this before facing a lot of paperwork for school. ^_^

3. March - Everyday life

Capture something that illustrates the things we all have to do, the places we all have to go, the mundane, the ordinary.

“The key is to integrate our art into our life, not the other way around.” – Brooks Jensen, Letting Go of the Camera: Essays on Photography and the Creative Life

My eye shadow is part of my daily routine but it was only when I got the camera out that I realised that the C and D were so perfectly reflected in the mirror - that was a real revelation to me!

fold. toss. roll over. repeat. I try to finish as much as laundry with my little man.

Today, I took a leap of faith (ok, not that big of a deal, but it still is a risk!)... and so my new journey begins in less than 2 weeks.

I had said that this year was the year of change... and I was going to do everything in my power to make that happen. Well, here it is folks, I have taken a step ... (forward!? backward? I really don't know at this time!)

Away from what I know, away from the comforts of my daily routine, away from the people I know and see everyday, away from the security of knowing I will have a paycheque every 2 weeks...

This is the most scariest thing I have done (aside from being forced down that black diamond... Inge, yes, I am talking about you!), and yet at the same time, I'm feeling liberated. I know this is the right step for me; I just hope that God will make it all right in the end.

Here's to a new start, fresh beginnings, and an exciting year of discovery, learning, and passion!

A busy day getting everything ready for a few days away in Porto. I do hate coming back to chores around the house so I tend to blitz clean everything on the day before a holiday. I therefore saw this view many times today and decided that simple shadows and texture would be my ‘in the moment’ image. So many of my images this year have been pre-planned and it was actually nice to take a day off from that and just react to what I see on my daily routine.

Day 2 of 365:

Sun is setting and its getting closer to the start of spring semester. I'm at the train station where tomorrow I will be starting my daily routine of riding the R5 into the city for classes once again. blahhh...How many days until summer??

feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sudden leap into the world of the working . . . seems that 9-5 thingie gets in the way of pretty much everything i used to do during my daily routine (bye, bye internets + sewwy good times). 'least now i can (sort of ) afford a good, daily beer.

Since I'm moving to another area I thought I'd start recording the regular scenes I see as part of my daily routine. I've shot this view many times and this is as few cars I've ever got in frame.

It's my daily routine to feed the birds and squirrels. Few pigeons came started showing the authority on food. That's when I took the pic.

Watching these two guys interact, and feeling incredibly lucky is a part of my daily routine.

My daily routine has been mixed up quite a bit lately which has left me extremely tired and busy. Soon I'll start actually taking cool pictures again though.

As soon as I pick up one room a tornado goes and tears apart another. This is what my little tornado looks like on a typical morning before school.

Food for thought: Coffee is a part of my daily routine. 1 tsp of carmel brulee creamer and 1 splenda.

Patiently waiting on the 5 Bus to be taken home. This is my daily routine.

I wonder how many people touch the safety handles everyday.

Among the things that 'keep me running' are coffee (addiction) and photography (passion). These two elements are quite substantial in my daily routine.

This shot was taken in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I met with two fellow photographer friends for coffee, while resting our cameras on the table

Honestly, an evening pass by NC State Centennial Campus in freezing rain is not part of my daily routine. But, it needed to be part of my baton day. This photo is of my wife & I with my late cousin Ava, whose life was cut short by pancreatic cancer in 2011. I volunteer as the Affiliate Coordinator for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Raleigh-Durham and we’ll host a 5k fundraiser here on May 17, 2014. Pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cancer killer and tracking in the wrong direction. Help me double the 6% five-year survival rate by 2020. My daily routine includes: taking care of herb garden, spin class, carrot juice, nephew time, grocery shopping, draw/ write/ play music/ crafts, make some insanely involved dinner that takes up my whole evening. then shower, reading, sleep.

Tonight's menu: focaccia bread, organic salad, creamy tomato/ cashew pasta, and peach blueberry pie with pecan crust. my parents are beginning to admit they enjoy vegan food, finally.

This is what happens to my mind when my daily routine gets abruptly stopped.

Of course I'm talking about my laptop, that just died without any explanation (read: it won't start and i have absolutely no idea why).

Dell must fix it tomorrow or they die!

Love the idea of doing this 365 project - I've been practicing for the last week or so, and found it to already be a life-changing experiment. Taking a daily photo is such a simple exercise. But it forces me to experience in the world in a different way. Sometimes it will push me to go off and explore someplace new in the hope of getting an interesting photo. Other times I'm just more engaged in my daily routine, looking around and noticing things.

When I have time I enjoy taking a walk in the Fells Park, which I did today. The ground was soggy with melting snow, (ugh, wet feet!), but it was a peaceful beginning to the new year. The scenic shots of the frozen lake didn't turn out that well due to the overcast sky, and at the moment, the only lens I have for my GF1 is a 20mm, which limits me from doing any macros. So this one ended up being my favorite photo of the walk.

Looking forward to the year ahead!

Pretty nice album in my opinion. I knew four or so singles that were on the album before they came out since they were all from anime I watched over the past couple of months.

To put it simply, ClariS makes some of the best earworm songs I've heard in quite sometime. "Irony" (Oreimo OP) and "Nexus" tend to get to randomly pop up in my head at some point in my daily routine... not that its a bad thing of course.

By the way, for those that are curious, those figures in the pictures are the ClariS Irony ver. Nendoroid-Petit's.

Last week, the weather channel predicted a chance of rain today, so as part of my Daily Routine (these week's theme), I went out and checked the weather. Nope, no rain in sight. Now, they are predicting rain for NEXT Sunday - we'll see.

This is part of my daily routine, have to keep the caffeine levels up :) Adding boiling water to coffee.

This coffee thing is a bit of a recurring theme... Guess it's safe to say the acquisition of coffee rates pretty highly on my daily routine... this monster was my 2nd for the day... that in itself is a bit unusual... I suspect I'll be paying for it in sleeplessness tonight.

Totally worth it.

Until recently, I led a miserable existence, confined to sit silently next to a toilet. My daily routine was to bear witness to the most awful sights, smells and sounds that any creature has ever experienced. This horror made me yearn for freedom from my evil slave master ... the one they call ... Jeremy. During the day I plotted my escape, and also learned to type English, operate a camera and use the Internet. One day I would walk along the sandy beaches of Zihuatanejo, like those guys in Shawshank Redemtion. Oh yeah, I also watched DVDs when nobody was home. Wow, Veronica Mars really did suck.

Is beauty what we see on the outside or is it what is on the inside that really matters? My daily routine consists of at least ten minutes of primping and standing in front of the mirror. Why do I work so hard to move myself farther and farther from my natural beauty? According to recent studies, women devote an average of nineteen minutes per day to treat and alter their faces. Beauty should not be who can devote the most time and money to altering their face. I have spent so much time trying to figure out who I am, when all along I am simply the person behind the makeup. I need to let that person grow and overpower all the advertisements for instant beauty. Beauty shines from the face of confidence and self esteem.

The never ending supply of laundry is definitely a part of my daily routine. Now that our water is back to normal, I'm trying to get caught up without having to go to the laundromat.

This is one of my favourite places- it is private land that has been part of my daily routine since I was small.

In that time it has been home to horses, set on fire and once harboured a fugitive from an asylum (seriously).

This is a picture of where a tree with a rope swing once stood, where I spent many long childhood summers.

Part of my daily routine - breaking up the ground to haul off loads of dirt in hopes of finding something historic.

I asked Tseganeh, who is helped by MMM what is daily life consists of. He replied, "As you can see I live in this small house which belongs to the government. My daily routine involves waking up early in the morning. I make my bed, wash my face, eat my breakfast and arrange my books ready to go to school."

Spaceship Project 2

Traveling to distant planets can mean the sacrifice of everyday sites that can easily be taken for granted. Each of these photos that I have chosen for this assignment was based on my daily routine and items that I associate with. I chose to display my digital photographs of the sky with a city view, a beautiful plant, a white flower, a fish tank scene and an Oreo Cookie package. Though there are many other items that I took pictures of, I felt that these five pictures had the best display qualities as well as special importance to me in my everyday life.

The first photo is the view from my room balcony that I look at each morning when I open the curtains and each night when I close them. I decided to use the daytime view with a horizontal framing to capture some fore front scenery to compliment the view if the down town San Jose buildings further away. I would greatly miss this view as apart of my daily routine and didn’t realize how important it was to be prior to this project. I would most definitely like to use this photo on the right hand wall on my spaceship.

I also love the water very much. I chose to take a picture of my mom’s fish tank. This would also be on my right hand wall as well because the sky and the water will be my items I miss most about earth. There is something really serene about the water and the fish and I felt that I capture a great interpretation of the tank.

I decided to use other nature photos of a plant and a flower and of my favorite cookie, the Oreo. I chose different compositions and angles for different items to capture these items in their most enticing state.

I literally felt sad about this assignment thinking what I would do and how I would feel if I could not have my everyday pleasures that I have become accustomed too. Learning to capture these settings effectively is something I feel more confident about, after doing this Spaceship Project. Thank God it’s just for imagination.

This is my daily routine eat design sleep

After living here a week, I realized that the thing that upset my daily routine most was the lack of ability to get my favorite breakfast cereal. On Saturday I picked up a box of this stuff, and I think it will serve as a pretty decent Wheaties replacement.

This never was part of my daily routine, but as birthday #44 is less than a month away, awareness of skin care has come to be a little more on my mind :). So for Christmas my husband bought me this wonderful set. I have faithfully used it everyday, and taken off my makeup every night (something I never used to bother with, lol). And yes, we both see a difference. I'm not so much worried about my age, it's just a number, but my husband is a little younger ;) and I don't want him to ever feel like he married an old lady :)

Sometimes I am moved to walk more slowly and with more awareness to activities I pass over in my daily routines.

While painting without thoughts and full attention on the subject, few magical strokes of the brush made me feel amazing and I felt connected to the source. I realized that if I pay attention to the world around me without thoughts blocking my view, beautiful synchronistic events will be my daily routine.

There are also several ‘burning ghats’ where bodies are cremated in public. The main one is Manikarnika- you’ll often see funeral processions threading their way through the backstreets to this ghat.

with some of my daily routine tasks. being a web designer can be a tedious job at times; sometimes you just need a little help.

I can't tell you how happy it makes my heart to hear them play. They work hard and it shows. So, I very happily chose listening to their musical routine as one of the favorite parts of 'My Daily Routine'.

My favorite video (in addition to the people wriggling through the hole). This is the Japan-iest thing about my daily routine, I think. School girls, salary men, and all the rest streaming out of the subway (and I get on X3)

This picture was taken at 11:00 pm in my dorm at Canfield Hall. This selfie shows me laying on a pillow which can show that I must have been tired at this point. This location is important because it is the central place of my life right now. This adds to my daily routine because every night at 11 I am around the same spot in my dorm doing very similar things.
