Perché non riesco a non associarvi delle immagini. Mie o di altri. E c’è della musica in sottofondo e del cinema. Grandi passioni, che vengono fuori da sole. Parlo di me, con autobiografico distacco. Quello che sono, quello che non sono, quello che mi sono avvicinato e allontanato dall’essere. Parlo di sentimenti e sensazioni. E situazioni. 80 occasioni per raccontarmi, 80 momenti vissuti con ironia, gioia e incazzatura. Mi chiamo Andrea. Ma questo l’ho già detto altrove. Altrove sì.
E' il libro per chi ha voglia di cimentarsi con i racconti brevi e brevissimi, le false poesie (prosa poetica, nda), la prosa illustrata e i disegni impertinenti.
Veloce per chi ha fretta, lento per chi ha tempo, acuto e poco smussato, non ha un inizio e non ha una fine.
C’è solo quello che sta nel mezzo.
80 pezzi, scollegati tra loro o collegati per caso.
Riflessioni, divagazioni, invenzioni.
Gioia e rabbia. Ma sempre con ironia.
Argomenti che ognuno di voi affronta nel proprio intimo. O almeno io.

Looks like it houses a Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EACS 1TB 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s internal 3.5" Hard Drive and a USB to SATA controller and power supply.
my sketchbook, it's all done in fountain pen, and i've removed some of the ones that make me look excessively crazy.
Not the best installation, as we were restricted to where the cables had been run to be the electrician at first fix. Unfortunately 5x zoneplayers and the NAS are in the one reasonably tight cupboard in the kitchen. See where I've marked on the RHS for two openings to be cut by the kitchen fitter, to at least allow for air circulation. If the temp was still too high with the side cutouts we can add fans on the inside to draw air in at the bottom and push it back out at the top.

This is a version of Turndust, an artist's book project I am currently working on. This is an early stage 'storyboard' version. I've posted it because I am interested in seing if I can use community on Flickr to add something to the design process. What do you think of it? What could be improved? What's good? What does it make you think about?
I'm planning to develop the book for screenprint in one or two colours with hand colouring in watercolour, so each book will be a little different, although still part of an edition. I plan to include new versions and working-up on Flickr as I go along.
Since this book is intended as a narrative, it's best read from beginning to end. You might enjoy looking at the set, but you may find the text difficult to read.

The bottom picture shows her with the same Bible she carried with her to China in the beginning, as she travelled around England preaching. She was not allowed to return to China, but she did go to Taiwan, where she died in l970.

Words can’t describe the frustration that has revolved around this poorly engineered external hard drive. Long story short, the MyBook Firewire external hard drive will not play well with other Firewire drives on a Mac running Leopard.
This drive (and the two that preceded it) would only mount sometimes, would hang for no reason, and worst of all be responsible for entire system crashes. Recovering, backing up, sending back, and waiting for replacement drives has cost me countless hours-even days of lost productivity.
How do I know this wasn’t just a fluke? Well, I’ve had these drives on multiple systems, along with different drive arrays, and it has wrecked havoc every time. I’m done paying $13 dollars to send these poorly designed products back to Western Digital. Today I ripped open the case, took out the drive, and shoved it into a cheap-o USB 2 enclosure. It’s nearly 1/3 faster, mounted instantly, and is showing no conflicts with my system or other drives. As much as I dislike USB2 for storage devices – this is a welcome breath of fresh air. I will never buy a Western Digital product again. For as long as I live. (apologies for all this pent-up anger, but it has been brewing for quite some time now)
So what would I recommend to a user requiring multiple Firewire drives? Stick to LaCie or Mercury Elite (OWC). I have yet to have a drive from either of those manufacturers cause me any trouble.
